Dip Game 2 Game Over

Post by Remus West »

2. Matthew - Russia
3. godhugh - Germany
4. st_dysan - Turkey
5. El Guapo - France
6. Spacelord - England
7. Grundbegriff - Italy

Orders due within 2 days of the previous turn being posted. Saturday and Sunday will not be counted, thus if a turn is posted on Thursday you have until Monday to turn orders in. For simplicities sake I will put a 5 PM EST deadline on the orders for each day. Please include "Diplomacy Game 2" in the subject line of all PMs regarding orders for the game. First turn orders due Thursday July 5th to allow extra time due to holiday. If a majority of players want we can extend that further and begin when best works for you all. Please post in thread if you would like a different day 1 due time.

As in the other thread, I will post a screen shot of the current map for each game turn as well as a summary of the events.

Good luck to all.

I concur, EXCEPT that it is sacrilege to change Turkey from yellow to orange. Turkey's color is yellow, and it shows up just fine (unlike, say, Germany's), so we should keep that.

Or is that because some people have a silver scheme when viewing these forums?

Grund's colors all look fine in subsilver. Remus's colors do not.

That's right. In particular, Italy is nearly invisible under subSilver under Remusscheme™.

Some time ago, I defected to subSilver, so I proposed colors that look good under either scheme.

Germany flips from black in subSilver to white in goneGoldBlack, but that's ok since Russia persists as dark grey in both. Under Remusscheme, it's hard to differentiate Russia and Germany.

Also, are we sending everything via PM or email? I'd prefer PM. Good luck all.

Wow. JDip is a whole lot nicer than RealPolitik (in all the respects that matter to me, at least).

So, from my brief reading of RealPolitik/jDip, we will basically have screenshots of the map, replacing the actual game board? Sweet. 8-)

Please be sure that when submitting orders you put "Diplomacy Game 2" in the subject line somewhere. Thanks

On a side note, I will be using jDip as it is very simple to work with (as is realpolitik honestly) and I like the map options I get. Plus I understand it so that is always a plus. :D

Just a quick FYI, I'm going out of town starting tomorrow morning. I'll still have access to a PC, I just may be a bit slow responding to PM's :).

What's up with Turkey? Were those real moves, Remus, or did you have to supply three Holds because Turkey was the one who hadn't given you orders?

95% chance it's the latter. Which is unfortunate (for the game, less so for the southeastern powers), but Remus waited as long as he could, I think.

Turkey had some RL conflicts going on and asked that I place hold orders on his units so that the game could advance.

That's unfortunate. He should have at least placed a set of basic moves (at least A Con-Bul) rather than holding all his units, which messes things up a bit.

Ok guys, Turkey is back and after amassing my 140k troops for an attack on Iraq, Remus has my moves. Sorry bout the hold but my wife just had surgery last week so my orders were all centered around my 5 yr old.

Plus I was very busy getting a bandwagon going on Remus, and as many of you know that was successful, so that was more of the real reason. I will recover..or at least try

carry on
