Once you return from the other side of the gate, you can make a Lore check to close it. If you succeed at the Lore check, the gate is closed; you can spend 5 Clue tokens at that time to seal the gate permanently, meaning another gate could never open there.Arnir wrote:Okay, can you clarify what happens if I go into the gate? You will have an encounter on the next phase. During the movement of turn 5, if you survive, you would move to the 2nd section of the Other World. During that next encounter phase, you would have your 2nd encounter, and show back up in Arkham. If you close the gate using Fight or Lore, you get a GT. If you fail, you can try again as long as you don't leave the location.Arnir wrote:Okay, can you clarify what happens if I go into the gate? It will take me 2 turns to get out, right? Remember! It's not always spells that can get you through the gate. Weird, unexpected things lie in Other Worlds. I'd give you the same Evade check at -1.
But remember, without a Find Gate spell, odds are there you will be on the other side this turn, and next turn as well.
If you flee, you would need to make 5 Evade checks, at +0, -3, +0, -2, and -3.
I'd suggest going to the Southside streets, as no encounters happen there, and no gates open. That would require a Move of 2.

I try to brush, in a futile effort, some of the accumulated dirt off of my topcoat.
That was too close for comfort. I must attempt to try to find something useful in this foul book - when time permits, of course.
I may also learn something from my other two books, but I believe that they will have to wait as well.

Okay guys, what should I fight? I can fight something that does a lot of sta damage. I have a spell that will cause me to ignore sta loss from one source... unless that means the turn by turn sta loss. My weapon is +3 to undead. I'll read back when I get a chance but am open to suggestions.
For my Lore/Luck it's 3/2 and my first part of my turn I'll read the tome I picked up at the store.

I could come help anyone that may need a sanity check after a fight.
Actually, I should say that another way.
Please, someone ask me to shadow them, as I can't really lead any fights (I don't think) and survive.
Oh, and Remus, I bought a stone from the curio shop for $6, so I am down to $1.
I figured I would use green to catch the eye of our banker.

So, regarding these loans we can get. Is it smart to get one? I feel like sitting on just $1 is risky... But I also would rather not be a slave to the man.
Could anyone post the pros (perhaps obvious) and cons to getting a loan.
Seems like things may get so nuts here that the loan is lost in the paperwork when the bank explodes or something...

Spacelord, was I able to get to where I needed to go to get my bank loan? I have not adjusted my cash if I did, otherwise this is where we should be. If you think I have an error in your account please let me know.
And I like the idea of posting cash changes in green, that would help me a lot.

Unagi, my understanding of the loans is that Spacelord rolls each turn to see if we have to pay them back $1. Beyond that I am not sure. Which makes it a very good question, how do we pay it off. Do we ever actually do that? I know that if we miss a payment we can not get another loan but what else happens to us if we renig? Also, how do we get money other than my trust fund?

Yes, I roll each turn to see if you owe a buck. At any time, you can pay the 11$ and no longer have the loan. If you don't pay the 1$ when the bank wants it, you forfeit items and can't get another loan. You can sell trophies of either type at the River Docks to gain 5$.Remus West wrote:Unagi, my understanding of the loans is that Spacelord rolls each turn to see if we have to pay them back $1. Remus West: Jenny Barnes, Dilettante - Easttown
FTWalker: Harvey Walters, Professor - City of the Great Race

OK, then - I'd actually like to shadow Chaos Raven to the bank, that's perfect - as I'd maybe like to get a loan too.SpaceLord wrote:Sorry, CR. I'd forgotten you'd went to the Bank. You could run by the Merchant District, and get a quicky loan. The Arkham Bank is here to serve you!

Was that maybe as in "Remus, bump my money up $10" or as in "I'm thinking about it"?
