DnD New Game 2
I have received a notice of interest to Play and rather than add a 6th Player to either of the other games I would like to Get a Pair of players for a Game (and then vortex out a Player from each of the others into this one).
If I end up with a party of three I'll only pull one Player. If a set of Four appear then the others can stay where they are.**
Rules
Dice
**P.S. don't tell the other guys, it'll be a sneaky surprise... hurr hurr hurr.

"Where are you off to?"
"I don't know," Snufkin replied.
The door shut again and Snufkin entered his forest, with a hundred miles of silence ahead of him.

I've always been partial to magic users, or paladins. Not sure which would work better for what you need.

Austin - rogue or ranger
hentzau - paladin or magic user
revhemp - elvish fighter/magic user
are people wanting to be multiclass (slower progression, but more versatility) or concentrate on one class?
I'll be having the party start with 1000 exp (2nd level) and some free stuff

Take 3d6... throw out the low die, add 6.
If yer gonna adventure, you'd better be Elite
Multiclassing is up to you each level you go up (with certain restrictions, Paladin and Monk most notably)
Austin - rogue or ranger
hentzau - paladin or magic user
revhemp - elvish fighter/magic user or Barbarian
tru1cy - Half-elf Fighter/Cleric or Dwarf Fighter
I'd imagine the Elvish Fighter/Magic User and Half-Elf Fighter/Cleric would go well with a Magic User and either the rogue or the ranger.

Okay this is what I rolled but I have a question.
The order of my rolls is from the bottom up so does each roll go with the lined up stat? IE Rolled 18 for Strength, 16 for Dex ect... or can we stick the rolls with the stat we want? (Like 18 for Dex)
(Those rolls look high but they are honest. I almost wanted to stick a low one in there so I wouldn't be accused of cheating.
)
I added the subtraction for the lowest roll on each line. 3d6+6-X. (X = lowest roll)Roll(3d6)+6:
1,5,3,+6
Total:15 – 1 = 14
Roll(3d6)+6:
3,6,6,+6
Total:21 – 3 = 18
Roll(3d6)+6:
2,6,5,+6
Total:19 – 2 = 17
Roll(3d6)+6:
6,5,2,+6
Total:19 – 2 = 17
Roll(3d6)+6:
1,5,5,+6
Total:17 – 1 = 16
Roll(3d6)+6:
5,6,6,+6
Total:23 – 5 = 18
NOTES
-------------------------
This field records your latest roll at its top.
Modified results that would produce a number less than one display as one.

hentzau - human sorcerer - Familiar?
revhemp - elvish fighter/magic user or Barbarian
tru1cy - Dwarf Fighter/Cleric
For the record, had you actually rolled a 8,9,or 10 I most likely would have told you to reroll it
So for you, it should be d10 fighter, d8 cleric, and +3 at 1st and 2nd level for CON bonus.
Take 10 for fighter, add 6, then add the result of a d8.
Yes, you would need to choose a God and Domains.

Hit Points - choose your first level class, take Max HP, then roll Hit Die for Second level class (even if the same), add CON bonus each level.tru1cy wrote:Fighter 1/Cleric 1

Do I need to pick Domains and a god to follow?

Let me do some thinking on the Familiar front. Hadn't really pictured him with a familiar...

Skills are purchased with skill points, Class Skills are 1pt per levelI am piecing this together. I'm not sure how to go about skills yet but am reading up on it as I go.
CrossClass are 2pt per level.
Everyone is going to get *either* a Magic Weapon *or* Magic Armor, and you start with 300gp, so don't spend yer cash on both. How much gold do we start with?
hentzau - you don't have to have one, but you are allowed to seek for one at 1st level. So if you would like one, we can skip the seeking as you're 2nd level and start with one.

Also - max levels in a skill is CharacterLevel + 3 (so 5 for now) for Class Skills and half that for CrossClass (2 at this point)

I believe so. Also, as a Cleric you get a free martial skill of your diety's favorite weapon and weapon focus. Clangddin's favorite weapons happens to be Battle AxeAustin wrote:If you level as a Cleric can you still use edged weapons, or does the Fighter bit negate that whole blunt object thing?tru1cy wrote: Fighter 1/Cleric 1

Yes, the "level cap" is the maximum Levels you can purchase. All other modifiers are added after that (ability, circumstance, feats, and Synergy Bonus)Austin wrote:You can have 5, but does your attribute bonus still stack? IE - Dex is 18, so does a skill of 5 still get a Dex bonus of +4?Chaosraven wrote:Also - max levels in a skill is CharacterLevel + 3 (so 5 for now) for Class Skills and half that for CrossClass (2 at this point)
Regarding Cleric -
Weapon and Armor Proficiency
Clerics are proficient with all simple weapons, with all types of armor (light, medium, and heavy), and with shields (except tower shields).
A cleric who chooses the War domain receives the Weapon Focus feat related to his deity’s weapon as a bonus feat. He also receives the appropriate Martial Weapon Proficiency feat as a bonus feat, if the weapon falls into that category.
There is No Restriction on Weapons other than a Negative Modifier for using equipment one is not proficient in.
A level of Fighter gives
Weapon and Armor Proficiency
A fighter is proficient with all simple and martial weapons and with all armor (heavy, medium, and light) and shields (including tower shields).

You receive Skill Points according to Class each Level (so, 1 level of this =X points, 1 level of that=Y points).tru1cy wrote:So for multi-class I split my skill points between the two classes?
When allocating points, you must spend them according to Class versus Cross Class for that Level (i.e. the points given for Fighter must be allocated according to a Fighters Class Skills when considering cost)
But all levels add together when considering Max Level Purchase.

Okay, so that should be 2+int bonus x 4. So I have 20 skill points to spend fighter skills and 20 for cleric skills

Notes on multiclassing:
1st Level Characters get 4x Class + Int bonus and Maximum points from their Hit Die
Each level chosen thereafter they receive Class + Int bonus and roll the Hit Die.
For this reason it is important to determine whether the HP or the Skill Points is more important to you...
In tru1cy example:
Fighter 1/Cleric 1 (with ability modifiers of +3 for either Int or Con)
Fighter has 2 + Int Mod for skill, d10 HP + Con Mod
Cleric has 2 + Int Mod, d8 HP + Con Mod
So he should choose Fighter as 1st Level since the Skill Points are the Same.
(2+3) x 4 = 20 at first level for fighter skills
2 + 3 = 5 at second level for cleric skills
unless the decision is reversed because he wishes to spend More Than Five Points on Cleric skills that would have otherwise cost More when he was a Fighter.
However there is a variant allowed in the GM guide for 1st level multiclass (essentially a Partial Level in 2 classes, and upon 2nd level have 1L in each) So for those multiclassing, I will waive the restriction on character creation.
tru1cy, you should have 25 pt to spend as you wish between the 2 Class Skills
ADDITIONAL NOTE for those who chose HUMAN:
Your Beginning Character gets +4 Skill Points and +1 each level you gain,
so you should have 5 extra pt if you haven't already factored it in
