Having some odd problems lately.
Norton AntiVirus shut down and advises it needs to be re-installed.
Its been whinning for several weeks that it wanted an update, but been too busy. So does it normally shut itself down until you re-install and update?
Also under the control panel is a section on Network Connections, upon opening this I could see my two internet connections and enable or disable if needs be. This area is now blank. How do I get my connections back? Reload them manually with the connect wizard?
Also you can usually drag folders around the desk top to new locations.
My desk top folders are not moveable.
This all seemed to occur after a crash and although the PC is up and running and connects to the net, I still have these anomalies.
Any suggestion on how to repair the system or whats going on?
Any help appreciated.

Re: Odd problems
Based on this and your other issue I would guess you may have some registry issues. I would also suggest running the appropriate vendors diagnostic on your HDD you may be starting to lose sectors.Ripstar wrote:Having some odd problems lately.

Thanks for the reply. I have been able to fix these problems and give the solution in case it may be helpful to anyone else.
I did a system restore to a few days before I had any problems.
This allowed me to remove a 2002 copy of Norton Antivirus that refused to be removed before. A message was given that the install program could no longer be reached.
Once I removed this copy I installed a 2005 Norton Antivirus program, did live up date and a full system scan deleting and quarantine where required.
The end result is everything works fine now and is running faster.
Maybe I just got lucky, this time.
