You need to be carful with secret roles. Nothing too ridiculous or it kinda ruins the fun as you never actually can deduce anything.

Secret role:
You are part of werewolves, so you win if they win. You can scan anyone at night and find if they are special/not specials. They can also each night protect one werewolf/secretrole player to protect. The protected person can't be lynched at day. If the werewolf which is under protection is being lynched, the lynch is cancelled and a night comes. If seer scans them, they show up as humans.

Too overpowered perhaps?

Does the secret role know who the WW's are? I like a Judas/sorc type of role but I would hesitate to grant them too much power. I think the big problem with secret roles are when they change too much. Like someone is the seer but hey, there's a secret power out there so maybe there is another conversion. If the can dramatically alter what people have figured it it spoils the figuring and becomes a crap shoot.

In the one game I did I had a couple secret type powers. One was that the Hunter's shot would not kill an innocent - it actually could be used to confirm an innocent on a miss that way. to counter that the bad guys had an EMP power that stopped all powers that night, including evil powers but did not stop the night kill. Only the converted baddie knew of his power which he shared with the other baddies and only the Hunter role knew his shot wouldn't kill an innocent. I didn't find those to be too game-altering but I can see the threat of some silly over the top power being a bit of a hurt to the game.

I think regardless of what the secret powers are, the fact that they exists in secret totally change the whole color of the game.

my 2 cents.

This was a very cool secret power.

However, the secret roles are not overpowered. Just secret. 8-) They are part of the puzzle to be solved. Only the secret roles will know who they are. Other roles will not be informed.

Also, please note PMs will be allowed in this game as well.

Again, this game is only designed to be played when there is a lull between the more complex (BSG for example) games.

Remember everyone this is a "Break glass when there is a Lull" game. No timetable when it will start. Just when we need a break from the more complex games.

"Scoop101" as I coined it is a playbook in which it seems like a good idea for as many unpowered innocents as possible to emulate powered roles, and to hold onto those emulations even when they start to work against the best interests of the emulators' teams. ;)

And in Scoop's last game, an Unpowered became Powered meaning, in theory, that Pinocchio could become a Real Boy. See a theme developing?

You did not even know the game was going on for two game days ya bastage. I told you it was running and thus figured you couldn't be a wolf because they would have needed to wait for you. Stupid on my part but you get no credit for making me that way.

My first game was over at Gamingtrend. I was a simple villager and it came down to the last day between Lassr, Chaosraven and myself (and maybe one other I can't remember). Lassr had the deciding vote and couldn't decide between killing me or Chaos. The moment had some good tension and I was hooked. Thanks for letting me join the reindeer games with you guys. I truly enjoy it.

Or you could give a good swift kick in the johnson to all those guys who have burnout.
maybe kill them first so they spend 4 weeks bored waiting for another game to start. It's a great way to cut off burnout.

I was actually trying to get a game started myself - but I am still sorta working the theme and a few of the details.

I don't mind when my game is played - just hope it's played by active people (happy, active people)

I was going to sign up for this, when the other game ended (provided I wasn't hit with a big work schedual that keeps haunting us at work - but never materializes)

Well, again, this game is designed to be filler between the main games. Like I said, its a break the glass when there is an emergency game.

Maybe its time for break while you develop your game Unagi. I will of course sign up for it, be active, and be HAPPY! :D
