mipe,
Please hold off until you can discuss this with Grund.

This may be the last miss, if Purge is converted.

conversely we can win this if he hasn't been right now.

You guys, I implore, beseech, entreat you to vote Revhempus.

I'm not 10, so I'd suspect Rev as being 10. Let's find out if killing 7 ends the game; they may have killed their only scan. If someone cares to sift through all the "who's 10" crap, who injected that fear and kept that drum beating?
You, you have been talking about who is and isn't 10 more than everyone really.

Why suspect Rev as 10, at this point I am wondering if Semaj, Kreagor, or Remus was as well, for it to be Rev out of that is not a sure thing. And why you think I am 7 is strange, you dismiss the thought that Rev was assigned the role #7.

We are looking for #7, but it's also about #10 too you.

The 10 talk started way before then.

I was amazed at how you had guessed Grund and I as specialists long before anyone else had. I thought to myself : there's a guy that's paying attention.

Heh. The cylons certainly would be... we react to their actions, not the other way around. You are the aggressor, and you have played an excellent game.

Lets play the numbers, shall we?

IF we don't get a cylon today, game over unless 10 wasn't found.

(assuming Unagi is 7)

5 - 1 (lynch - cylon).
4 - 1 (night kill by cylon)
3 - 1 (lynch)

So we need to nail one of the two today, and I if mipe/grund don't make the safe choices today, I'll get to say "toldyaso".

Reread the threads watching for Unagi's posts. They aren't helpful, they run control.

You'll note how he didn't speak to his accidentally killing the first cylon comments I made last night.

Right now I expect Grund and Mipe are waiting to hear from Rev. Mipe, what you just did was test how many cylons there were. You could have cost us the game with that move; your test is inconclusive because we don't know if 7 or (potentially) 10 noticed it in time.
I would like to apologize to anyone I have not offended.
Please be patient - I will get to you shortly.

Correct. But rather than continue to wait (who knows how long?) for him, I'm going to put the game in the hands of the next person who does bother to participate.

 Unagi

I find it hard to believe that these two lines would converge:

(a) the two non-participants, Sean and Rev, happen to be tapped as Cylons in the same game,

AND

(b) Unagi is acting guilty as all get out, and yet ain't.

Now it's on mipe or Rev.

How does that put it in the hands of the next participant? Your vote is exactly what it is: that's two on me, you think Rev will vote for Rev?

That is YOU making the choice in this game. Nothing else and you know that.
You know in your heart I am innocent, but you can't side with that?

Remus is the only guy that is going to enjoy this loss.
Mr. Grundbecide

Revhemp, do me a favor tonight. Kill mipe, you should let Grund be here for the final moments.

Actually, no - Grund - do me a favor, change your vote. Please. For the first time in these games, just please take this risk.

There, I've given my all, begged for you to not make this move. I humbly ask you to change that vote. This is indeed Your Call Grund, and you do know that.

ooo, theatrics. Rev would be up tomorrow if you turn up human. He's next if you turn up cylon. Either of you could be seven.

mipe, please vote; Rev's participation is questionable and he may well not want to vote out his partner, or he may truly be AFK. (his last email indicated he'd be at a funeral).

Guilty as charged.

Wanna change your vote to Revhemp and help win this for the Humans Purge?

Grund, why do you think I am worried Purge is converted if I am the last freaking Cylon?

Why am I pushing for Rev and Purge?

SNAP OUT OF IT.

I am acting 'guilty as hell' simply because I am here and typing. Everything I type looks like I am squirming or trying to manuever out of looking Guilty. Duh, you KNOW this is innevitable, yet you add it to your reasoning.

Rev's lack of any post is just taken as innocence - simply because you can't see the convergence of Sean and Rev both being given a Cylon Role and both being AWOL ?

Aren't you the one that normally says that type of analysis is folly?

Hello ?

Something else you are doing right now too. You are supporting the Silent Wolf approach and hence contributing to the degredation of these games. By voting for me, The Talker, and not Revhemp - the Silent Fraking' Wolf - you are indeed lending weight to that strategy.

Fun end game.

Once Grundbegriff announced that Bakhtosh had been shot it didn’t take long for the accusations to start flying. Unagi instantly voted for Revhempus. “Grund, if you know Purge to be a specialist then it has to be RevHempus" He looks over and notices Revhempus had fallen asleep again. Grund shook his head, “A Cylon would never sleep that long. They are machines.”
“How do you know Purge isn’t really a Cylon? Can you be sure?”
Purge perks up, “I’m not a Cylon! And I’m voting for you.”
Mipe was sitting back watching all this when he says, I’m voting for myself…no wait, uh never mind.” Mipe walks back to the seat and sits down.
Grund looks at him and mumbles, “Great, the last vote is in his hands.” With that mipe says, “Unagi must die.”
Unagi just shakes his head, “Grundbegriff, you should have stayed quiet these past few days. I'm beginning to think Chaosraven lied about you.”
Unagi was lead away.

Hey, I'm not 10. Maybe tonight, but not right now.

I'm surprised you still stick with your story... perhaps Rev is the silent wolf.

If that's the case, sorry bub. You are playing just like when you converted me as Baltar. Devious, insidious, and "helpful". :)

Well played.

Purge walks back into the room wiping his hands on a towel. His face is white. “Uh, he was human.” Grundbegriff’s mouth drops open, “What?”
“Yes, no chip.” Grund glares at Purge, “How long have we known each other?” Purge thinks, “10, 11 years.” Purge pauses, “You don’t think I’m a Cylon do you? Frak, for all I know you could be a Cylon then!” They both glance over at RevHempus as he snores away the day. Grund walks out of the room. Purge follows shortly afterwards.

Well it is obvious that I am #7. I don't have much to say other than I did what i thought was needed to get a win. I really did not have access to a computer as much as I would have liked.

Don't worry about this kind of play ever happening from me again, as this is going to be my last game for a while(if ever again). Sorry to have fucked everything up for you all.

Well I don't really know what to say.

I honestly did not want to create such a bad vibe. However I understand the frustration.

It's nothing personal, Rev, and I hope you'll find time down the road to play in other games. The problem is really a general one: what can be done when any player signs up and then goes minimal?

In the early days of these games on this forum, there were a couple of people who would play invisibly (You Know Who You Are). It was frustrating, but we collectively tolerated it because they were few. Nowadays, though, we seem to have many more people who are willing to sign up for a game and then bail partway through, fade entirely, or stay but play anti-socially.

It's understandable that people have real lives and that those lives take precedence over mere forum games. But the right thing to do, for the sake of those who are invested in a particular game, is to sign up only if one truly intends to play in more than a nominal way. (One might argue that I shouldn't have signed up for the current BSG game, since I was absent for most of it; I hope my participation after my return qualifies me as consistent here.)

What people seem to do instead is sign up for games they wish they could play, even when they know better. This leads the more engaged players to develop expectations and hopes that are then dashed by minimalism or a no-show. And That's No Fun.

Glad to see you back, Rev, and glad to learn that 10 is dead; I'd hate to go down in the annals with an asterisk, like Remus.... ;)

I know that it sucks when people can't or won't play after signing up. It is not my fault that i could not be on more. I had a lot going on with buying my mobile home and all that came with it. I would hope that everyone here knows that it was not my intention to play the game that way. It was a matter of circumstance.

Again, I apologize to the players and the Mod for how things went down here. Who knows, if I ever get internet at my new home I might be back(if you all can forgive me that is).

:binky: Rev, you are still a good guy in my book. What perhaps frustrated me most was that it was you that played this way, as you don't do it historically. I think Grund summed things up well. I would just add: Please DO come back when you know you can participate, as far as I am concerned, you are a very fun participant when you are one. If you had won the game this way, I'd like to think you would have felt worse really. OH! And good luck with the new home! Grats!! :binky:

Knowing you were not intentionally playing the silent wolf and were actually giving the game all the attention you could while having severely curtailed internet access unexpectedly I thought of posting something about your access problems but then figured not spoilering the game was more important as we are all mature enough to understand that things happen. In your particular case I would hope that folks have seen you play enough to know you are just as obsessed as Chaosraven and I are with these games and thus would have been your usual active self given the chance. Even the bomb is forgiven.

Purge wondered alone for what must have been over an hour trying to think. Is it Revhempus? Could it be Mipe or even Grundbegriff? Purge turns and heads back to the meeting room. When he arrives no one is there. He sets off to find everyone. He comes upon Mipe first.
“We need to find everyone and we need to stay together.” As they set off looking for the others they come upon the body of Grundbegriff. He had a screwdriver buried to the hilt underneath his chin. “Frak!” A little later they run into Revhempus. “We need to stay together and head back to the meeting room now.”

There was no doubt in there mind, Revhempus was a Cylon. Revhempus rushed toward them, “Yeah, I’m a frakking Cylon and I’m going to kill you both now!”, Purge pulled a firearm from his waistband and fired a shot into the head of Revhempus. Purge and Mipe drug the body to the autopsy room.

An hour later Purge stepped out and said. “Yep, he was the Cylon.” I think we are safe now. Although we got them, I think they got the better of us. Just us two now.” Mipe looks at Purge, eyeing her from top to bottom. He thinks, ‘We’ll she’s not my dream girl but she’ll do.’ Mipe slaps Purge on the buttocks, “I guess it’s up to us to repopulate the human race.” Purge looks over at Mipe with mouth agape, “How the frak can you think about sex at a time like this?”

Humans win!
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.
