Evening - Day Two Score 30

"Ok, we have come to a majority decision." announced Mr Bubbles, "For the good of the group purge must be eliminated."

"Damn you all to hell! Dickweeds!" screamed purge.

"How rude." shouted Remus West and pulled an power cord out of the control panel and pushed against purge. A shower of sparks exploded from a violently quivering purge who quickly blackened and fell to the ground dead.

Almost as soon as purge breaths his last breath, a cloud of sinister black fog envelopes him, and when the fog lifts, the carcass has disappeared. The only thing left behind are his boots and an inscription on the boot's sole read, "purge - evil".

"Another evil? How many of them are there?" laughed Mr Bubbles.

"Oh crap! Its getting dark again and quickly!" called out Kraegor.

IT IS PITCH BLACK. YOU ARE LIKELY TO BE EATEN BY A GRUE.

UR-Grue: Who will you send the grues to attack?
Wizard of Frobozz: Who will you cast your "find" spell (scan) on?
Implementor Dave Lebling: Will you create the Implementor secret forum?
Implementor Steve Meretzky: Who will you direct the thief to visit?
Coconut owner: Who will you scan (or convert if UR-Grue)?

All Night Play orders must be submitted by 2:00 pm (ET) on April 2, 2009.

Trying to remember the sequence of things:

Remus apparently got the Coconut from Semaj when Remus stabbed Semaj with the Elvish Sword of Great Antiquity. (This proved that purge was lying).

The fact that purge claimed the Coconut but Remus retrieved it elsewhere suggested that purge and Semaj might be coordinating. But the game did not end when both were slain on Tuesday day. So if they were coordinating, they were doing so as Imps. And if they we're two of the Imps, then one of {theohall, Austin} the third Imp (since the game would've ended had they both been Gruevy).

Therefore, if purge and Semaj were coordinating, then all three Imps are dead and we're looking for either the Ur-Grue xor the Wizard.

Questions about the chain of custody of the Coconut:
mipe had the Coconut on Sunday night, possessed it on Monday day, and passed it on Monday to someone.
That someone used it on Monday night, possessed it on Tuesday day, and ?

If Remus received the Coconut from Semaj when Remus stabbed Semaj, then it's likely that mipe passed the Coconut to Semaj, yes? The only alternatives are (a) that mipe didn't really pass it to anyone, and Semaj-gruevy received it by slaughtering mipe, xor (b) that Meretzky sent the Thief to the Coconut's location and the nut was redistributed into Semaj's hands.

Here are my questions:
1. Is this a correct representation of the chain of custody, as far as it goes?
2. Is there anything else we know about this issue?
3. Was it possible for a conversion to have occurred? I think conversion would've been signalled by a deathless night, so I believe we know it hasn't happened.

Or 1 Bad Guy was dead, then 2 Impies bought the farm, making the 3rd impy EVIL. Whether Purge was an Impy or a Gruesome, he and his NEW partner would continue on.

What we know: Theohall, Austin, Semaj, Purge dead evil.

Theohall and Austin cannot have been Grue and Wizard. (Game ends with Normal Victory, yes?)

Within Theohall, Austin, and Semaj cannot have been both Grue and Wizard. (Game ends with Impy Victory, yes?)

With 4 Dead, there remains one Bad Guy. whether Grue or Wizard or transformed Impy.

The Thief stole my Lantern, therefore Semaj was Grue/Wizard, as was partner-Purge.
Theohall was Impy, Austin was Impy, looking for third Impy (now transformed to evil)
Assuming Austin didn't Troll himself, theohall was Forum dude, Austin was Thief, leaving a transformed Troll Impy.

My 2 cents worth.

Implementor Dave "Hollywood" Anderson - Dave "Hollywood" Anderson can direct the troll to attack a player during the Day. He may only do this once per game. If the player being attacked has the Elvish Sword, then the troll is killed and the player attacked does not die. If the attack is successful, Dave "Hollywood" Anderson will secretly receive any game objects the killed player had. Send the troll to attack a player does not reveal this player's identity. The troll may not be used on Day 1.

Hang on... if Austin had the Nut then Troll Dude snagged it.

I guess it doesn't really matter who's who, as long as we hold to these premises:

There's one evildoer alive in the set {Brendan, Kraegor, tru1cy}

We're at risk of conversion only if (a) he's the Ur-Grue, and (b) we miss him, and (c) he happens to acquire the Coconut.

Trusted pop: Chaosraven, Grundbegriff, Mr Bubbles, Remus West = 4
Untrusted pop: Brendan, Kraegor, tru1cy = 3 (one of them evil)

Now: UUUTTTT
Tuesday night: bad kills good UUUTTT
Wednesday: good misses: UUTTT
Wednesday night: bad kills good UUTT
Thursday: good misses UTT
Thursday night: bad kills good UT, winning the game

Therefore, if we miss twice, we lose. We have to find him on one of the next two lynches, in the set {Brendan, Kraegor, tru1cy}, without seeing a conversion.

Yeah good question. I just got the message that I had received the coconut and shortly after that I got the message it was stolen.

Yeah good question. I just got the message that I had received the coconut and shortly after that I got the message it was stolen.

I gave it to him. I figured it didn't matter who I gave it to due to the thief going nuts but that I (mostly) trust him and he was an unlikely night kill if the thief did not go bonkers for some reason I overlooked. Pass orders go through before the thief. Thus, the pass then the theft.

Morning - Day Three Score 20
You are standing on the top of the Flood Control Dam #3, which was quite a tourist attraction in times far distant. These are paths to the north, south, and west, and a scramble down.
The sluice gates on the dam are closed. Behind the dam, there can be see a wide reservoir. Water is pouring over the top of the now abandoned dam. There is a control panel here, on which a large metal bolt is mounted.
Directly above the bolt is a small green plastic bubble.

"We are still here? It must mean we are doing well.", remarked Remus West.

"All of us but Grundbegriff.", noted Kraegor.

The mangled remains of Grundbegriff clothes lie on the ground, his boots still somewhat intact. An inscription on the boots read, "Grundbegriff - Normal". Brendan solemnly picked up Grundbegriff's remains and cast them off the dam and into reservoir.

"Well, I know I have to tell you guys that someone passed the Brass Lantern to me last night." announced Chaosraven.

Then Chaosraven fished in his pocket for the crumpled paper crane and read a note on it aloud, "You guys have been killing each other like crazy. We believe the dam should be stable for another day. Good work but there is still evil amongst you. You will have to vote to eliminate another player again today."

"Then that makes a voting majority of 4. We should start voting and be done with this deadly business." remarked tru1cy.

No, as soon as he died (or was converted) the Thief goes nuts and steals all items every night. Each item is still usuable that night by whomever he gives them to. Since there are 4 dead Evils there is only 1 left alive and thus he is either dead or converted at this point and the Thief should be going nuts.

Kraegor, you should pick someone to pass the Coconut to now rather than waiting. As was shown last night, the pass order does go through before the thief so we get to know when it is passed.

Good to know the lantern will be in our control then. We can pass it (or not) among the knowns and thus if we miss tonight we have a 1/3 chance of blocking the attack. If we miss tomorrow we have a 1/2 if we failed to protect before then.
