Thats what she said.
You've been talking to your mom about me again haven't you. Listen, whether she thinks I was worth the price or not she still needs to pay up.
She told me now only does she feel cheated, but she wants restitution for false advertising.. whatever that means.. I didn't exactly want to press the issue. That was the Long (or short of it) at least.
She read the ad that said she would get to wear the strap on. She did not read the part that said that only applied if she hired Chaosraven rather than me.

Should I be more annoyed with users who insist on catagorizing and filing everything so deep that their file structures don't move/copy/save effectively or should I be more annoyed with MS for not making it clear that when a file structure hits ~255 characters it starts to freak out.

When it comes to meat why did we decide on cows and pigs and the occasional sheep? Whe it come to fowl we chose chickens and turkey for special occasions. And yet if it swims we'll eat it, unless it also occasinally walks on land. And if it has scales and walks on land we don't touch it.

But in lieu of harvesting rabbits or sparrows or garter snakes or salamanders, we decided with plants we'd go so far as to take to trying to do something with wheat by crushing it powder and then making it into something else and adding a bunch more shit to it in order to make it edible.

We're silly.

Sometimes I wonder why our nose is above our mouth. If I were the creator I would put our mouth and nose on the same level. Can't put the mouth above the nose, because when we throw up it would be an issue. Nose above the mouth and we bleed into our mouth. No I would think nose and mouth should be next to each other.

The English language can be tricky sometimes.

For example, did you know that "Put this in a safe place. It is important." actually means "Hide this someplace where you'll never find it when you need it six months from now."? Who knew?

Is there a progession in creepy old manhood from avoidance, to acceptance, to embracing?

I find their annoyance to be directly proportional to the distance their living space is from my bedroom.

"Loving You" may be the worst song ever sang. Playing it in a slow restaurant with access to sharp objects just extends the agony.

A lot Mariah's stuff literally gives me headaches. This is one of them. I don't know why. And that mouse squeak is insufferable. I'm sure there are much worse songs but I can think of any right now because I have that ah ah ah dieing schtick where she is excercizing vocal range going through my head right now. Thanks a lot, pally.

Me neither, because it's not Mariah who sings it. In fact, Mariah was only 4 years old when the song came out.

"Having My Baby" by Paul Anka is the worst song ever. It was, in fact, rumoured to have been played in a restaurant once but what really happened will never be known. Those who went in never came out.

You and me both. The easiest way for me to get to sleep at night is to eat a huge meal and then go into hybernation and then I'll still be tired when I wake and I'll feel even more like crap and I get fatter.

I think my problem is that my body seems to be in a 36 hour rhythm rather than 24. I would rather be awake for 24 hours and then sleep for 12 maybe with a 4 hour nap every 4th or 5th cycle. But life doesn't work that way and so I go to bed wired and wake up exhausted fairly regularly.

If I tried to drive through Beckley and it was Bridge Day, how would I get through? (Thank goodness it won't be...one year, it's like 6am or something been driving all night with the kid - or maybe it was kid at that time - and I see all these signs "bridge closing", "Bridge day today" etc...I was like oh crap. We passed just as it looked like a bunch of trucks looked like they were ready to close the bridge off)

If you want to entertain yourself in a meeting (and leave yourself totally ignorant of what the meeting was actually about) you can take the time to look around at the people who still write rather than use PDAs or laptops to take thier notes. Everyone seems to hold their pens a little differently.

Do we actually teach people who to write or do we just let it happen?

So now that you've noticed a dozen different postions for pen holding (fingers forward, wrist curled up, relaxed, tight, pen at different angles to the page, held by index finger, held by middle finger, pen on finger pads, pan on knuckles, middle in front, index in front, etc...) try and emulate writing postures with random notes.

Here's a random note with half the people saving everything electronically (myself included) we've really screwed ourselves if our history is held up to scrutiny. Other people have unprecedented access to my notes. I have almost 12 years worth stuff that could be easily sorted and presented and data mined for evidence. I am lawyers wet dream. Rather than throwing scratchings away or seeing that your filing cabinet is getting too full, you can let stuff pile up forever.

I wonder how many other people in the computer industry distrust computers as much as I do.

Change is good, right. Keeps you young and all that. But isn't dieing also a pretty big change. Or being in a car accident. Screw change. I'll pay with plastic. Watcha gonna do then, huh? No change for you, no change for me.

I got a check for .04 cents today. I wonder how much it will have cost to write, transport twice, cash, transport, and clear this thing.

I thought banks did it all electronically now. Don't they just scan it on one side and pay it off that way? Checks are puppies. Did I use that phrase correctly? I've never gone to the OO wiki to find out exactly what that means. Here's hoping I'm good at context clues! With my luck, however, the only skill I have is at Blue's Clues.

I was walking through the mall with my 2.5 year old daughter a while back and she said "Look Daddy, a clue!" Took me 5 minutes to figure out she was the Clemson Tiger logo on a store and was referring to Blue's Clues. She made that connection no problem, but when she asks where her book is and I say "Look under the chair", she stares around the room helplessly. She knows what "look", "under", and "chair" are, but putting them together meant nothing to her. Kids are weird.

But back to checks, why aren't we all using credit cards or some form of them, for everything now? I use ING for my online banking but its hard for me to convince people to give me their routing information so I can just deposit the money directly in their account. It saves them time, me time, and all the energy LM mentioned - and it's nothing different than what they give me when they give me a check - yet they won't do it. People are weird.
