As a long time Simulations Publications, Inc paper gamer long before I turned to computer gaming, I first was introduced to Simonsen's work in the very early issues of Strategy & Tactics magazine and the SPI games after he and James Dunnigan took over the company. The article is right on target talking about his graphics style, it was so crisp and unique at that time. I wasn't even aware of his earier work in graphics, like the cover of "Is Paris Burning?" or covers for London Records. His later ventures into computer gaming weren't as successful, but for those of us who took up wargaming in the seventies, he was as well known then as Sid Meiers is today.
I'll have to pull out my old S&T collection tonight in rememberance...
