Deity - Work in Progress
4 Teams of 4 = 16 players
Each team of 4 worships a deity. There are 3 false gods and one true god. The true god will be decided by random.org once the teams are rolled. Undecided if members will know they serve the true god or not from the start.
The earth will be destroyed in a certain # of days, or perhaps once X players are left - Undecided as of yet.
Only the worshipers of the true god will be saved.
I have not decided if it's a day/night cycle or rounds as of yet.
Each round or night, a members will pray for resolution (to stay true) or for death of an infidel.
Resolution helps lock them to their deity for that night. X members must pray in order for death to take effect. (only those serving the true god will have answered prayers)
Dinner - will continue later...

Hmmm... so there is no winning condition for the other players? Or actual abilities?Austin wrote:Undecided if members will know they serve the true god or not from the start.

"Where are you off to?"

Still working on it. The point will be to A) Discover the true god, who worships it and become a worshipper, displacing the current worshipers. There will be some sort of roles within each team but it's a work in progress.Chaosraven wrote:Hmmm... so there is no winning condition for the other players? Interesting. So how would one know they worship a false god and need to trade up?Austin wrote:Still working on it. Team A - worships True, doesn't know it.
Team B,C,D - worships False, doesn't know it.
Will these Teams be like Masons? (PM etc)

Teams would indeed be like masons but the teams would change so watch your back. You would figure out your team is worshiping a false god by not having your prayers to kill player x answered. That would be the first part; is my god real? Next, if not, which one is? Then, how do I get onto that team before end game conditions are met?

I do think teams would have to be known. Players abcd are team 1, efgh are team 2, ect... But yeah they could scheme. There would be elements of Trig's roses game though too to bring out the self-serving backstabbery.

What about Light/Dark style recruiting?
And how would Player X, formerly of the Fasle God B, deal with joining forces with True A? Could he still communicate with the B team? Would he learn the identity of A Team? heh, I said A Team
Or would ALL players be allowed behind the scenes comm, and just the members of Team A know who was on Team A? etc

Good point. I guess this game would be best served by allowing Pm's and perhaps not bothering with forums unless a team wants one.Chaosraven wrote:What about Light/Dark style recruiting?

How would you switch teams?
Some claim to be things they aren't.
Some claim things they don't deserve.
Some claim to know more than they ever will.
I don't claim anything, because no one would believe the truth anyways.

I'm working on that.Semaj wrote:How would you switch teams?
Something along the lines of;
During the prayer phase, or round or night or what have you, one can try to oust a player from a team and take their spot. The ousted player would be forced to the team of the person who ousted them. (maybe

But I only thought of the basics in the shower yesterday so it needs a lot of work. A 4 will need a power that helps overcome the weakness of being a 4, and such...

What if a 2, 3, and 4 wanted to oust their 1?Austin wrote:I'm working on that.Semaj wrote:How would you switch teams?

(maybe) Whether the person is ousted or not depends on whether they are praying to kill/resolution/ or trying to oust someone else. Each player will have a rank of sorts, for now let's say 1, 2, 3, 4. A 1 can oust a lower member if they are not praying for resolution. If a 1 and a 2 both try to oust a praying player, they will be ousted and the 1 will take their spot. If 2 1's try to oust the same player, they will bounce. (Hmmm... kinds like Diplomacy
)

They probably cannot, apart from perhaps some special powers that could work to that effect. I have not made it that far yet, but thanks for the brain poke.theohall wrote:What if a 2, 3, and 4 wanted to oust their 1?Austin wrote:I'm working on that.Semaj wrote:How would you switch teams?

Along those same lines, why would any team want to fracture itself? Can only X many players win? Can each Deity only have Y number of worshipers? Because once everyone figures out who they should really be praying too, there's gonna be a little bit of a logjam at the altar.Austin wrote:They probably cannot, apart from perhaps some special powers that could work to that effect. How about if Rather than 1 true god, there is only 1 Winning god. And each of the other false gods give some kinda power...

I see that playing out like Sacrifice. That was a cool game and would make for an interesting forum game.Semaj wrote:How about if Rather than 1 true god, there is only 1 Winning god. And each of the other false gods give some kinda power...

To stess' point above, teams won't have much choice but to fragment. There will be other teams forcing members out.
