Blank movie file needed to replace intros

Post by jpinard »

I've got Gary Grigsby's World at War (adn it's fantastic!)... BUT every time I launch I have to go through 3 intro movies. I can click esc, but this is actually pretty slow too. So I konw some people have made 1/10 second blank movie files that can be used to essentially skip intro movies. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

You can do this for most games, and skip the splash screens and go straight to the main menu. What I generally do is rename the files (logo.bik, atari.bik, or whatever) by putting an exclamation point at the beginning, which moves them to the top of the list and disables them as well. A few games will balk if the file is missing, but having renamed them rather than delete, I can easily restore them if needed.

From my experience, the opening movies and logo splashes can be disabled for about 90 to 95% of all pc games.
