Voice command software for games?

Post by hepcat »

Can anyone suggest a decent voice command software package for games? I used to have the Gamevoice from microsoft and i really liked it. However, microsoft stopped making them (as far as i can tell) and i just don't feel like dealing with the hastle of trying to track down their hardware that you have to use with the software for it (you need the "puck" otherwise it won't work, i tried  ).

I know game commander 3 is supposed to be good, but that's on my "last resort" plan since it's almost 80 bucks. I would think someone's got something cheaper or even free available out there. Either that or maybe game commander 3 is available for less from a retailer?

I just want to give voice commands to my squadmates in Rainbow Six, darn it!

There's a freeware program called Voice Activated Commands (VAC) that earns raves in the SimHQ forums.

You can get it from:

And there's another freeware program called "Shoot" http://clans.gameclubcentral.com/shoot/ which is quite good.
