I guess I have no idea. We'll have to let tru1cy tell us what's up with that.

When I saw the 1 - it seemed to beg to be pronounced True-one-cee.... truancy. (and I liked how that also fit nicely with his hardly ever being here)

Good question. There are four (msteelers, tru1cy, Slim, and Grund) who haven't checked in to the thread yet.

I've been following along and learning some interesting facts, like what a poop deck is. And that I've been possibly mispronouncing tru1cy's name all along. Outside of that though I've got nothing else to add.

Since there is a nauticle theme to this game, I wanted to add one more definition:

Forecastle

Forecastle refers to the upper deck of a sailing ship forward of the foremast.

The syncope of the word, fo'c'sle or fo'c's'le (pronounced /ˈfoʊksəl/), is common among nautical terms due to the nature of their pronunciation during the Age of Sail by sailors with strong accents and varying language skills.

Among defensive troops on battlefields forward of castle walls, the syncope perhaps led to the usage of the homophone foxhole.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forecastle

It also sounds a little like Newcastle..hehe..

I think that's indicative to how this game will go with him.

So, day 1 it is.

Anyone else got a better day 1 pick?

I advise we pick a player that will remain in the shadows for the remainder of the game.

That's not the participation level we're looking for (and it just seems off to say that).

Bilge:

The bilge is the lowest compartment on a ship where the two sides meet at the keel. The word was coined in 1513.

The word is sometimes also used to describe the water that collects in this compartment. Water that does not drain off the side of the deck drains down through the ship into the bilge. This water may be from rough seas, rain, minor leaks in the hull, other interior splillage, or stuffing box. The water that collects in the bilge must be pumped out to prevent the bilge from becoming too full and threatening to sink the ship.

Bilge water can be found aboard almost every vessel. Depending on the ship's design and function, bilge water may contain water, oil, urine, detergents, solvents, chemicals, pitch, particles, and so forth.

By housing water in a compartment, the bilge keeps these liquids below decks, making it safer for the crew to operate the vessel and for people to move around in strong weather.

Actually, when I originally came up with the name it meant:

True One See Why = tru1cy. It wasn't till later it was pointed out to me that it also could mean truancy. I like that better so I went with it

1. before the final condemning vote is the way it should read.
2. good question
3. numbers are just for flavor.

Answer - "before N-1 is replaced by N"?
Before the final vote is cast to lynch N. So the latest a Bond's shot can be ordered is during the n-1 state...once the final vote is cast, then a shot can not be ordered during that chapter phase.
Protector – At night can protect one person of his choosing. Can not choose same target back to back. He will find out if his target was successful or not.
Can the Protector protect himself?
Yes, but not on consecutive nights.

I believe a consensual decission will be arrived between the remaining the villains. I dont feel a sucession order is needed.
