Why does Chaosraven think that the only over-vote role active in the game belongs to Count Dooku?
Does he know that there's no Yoda and no R2?
Did we just get our first break in the game here?
how does CR know that there is no yoda nor r2d2?

If--and right now I think it reasonably likely--Chaosraven gave something away here, here's what he gave away:
There's no Yoda.
There may (and if No Yoda, then more likely R2D2) still be R2, and given the 1-time nature of the droid's special power. and the badguys have already decided to make sure r2 holds it back for now.

You guys are such Dorks. R2D2 isn't going to waste his one time on this, regardless of Scoops alignment. Yoda and Dooku can overvote every day. If scoop is rebel, yoda won't (as it just gives us his teammate), if scoop is empire it tells us Yoda exists. As *I* stated earlier, it would be silly for Dooku to use it as he has no way of knowing which scoop is and eliminates one vote from the voting pattern. HOWEVER if he wished us to know he exists he could do so either privately or publicly. With a possible Thrawn and possible Boba Fett to protect it'd be his call.

As you note, Dooku's vote is blind. He doesn't have absolute knowledge of anyone's Rebelliousness. If Dooku doesn't think Scoop is a Rebel, why vote "to let us know he exists"?
Why do you want to give the Rebels that information, Chaosraven?
(And what if, on the off-chance, that Dooku is Scoop himself?)

I believe it was triggercut that stated it would be almost impossible to get a Rebel lynched on day 1. I think that a pretty accurate theory. Seems to me it has proved awfully damned hard to get Scoop lynched. Seems to me that if there is a Yoda in game then he has had plenty of time to cast that final vote if Scoop is Empire.
I have no plans to move my vote off of Scoop today.

We got Scoop to 10 votes, which is what "N-1" is on day one. No lynch. Yoda either asleep at the switch and Scoop is Empire...or Dooku asleep at the switch or not buying Scoop is a Rebel.
I believe that Scoop is Empire for now.
I think that within the vote train on Scoop (which didn't have anything to justify it other than--in my case anyway--wanting to see how Scoop reacted to a little heat, and a stupid Bieber avatar) you probably had 3-4 badguys (with 3-4 laying out to protect against post-mortem vote analysis), and 6 or so goodguys.
We got no action from from either of our everyday overvoters with Scoop at N-1.
Tonight we get Chaosraven perhaps dropping a huge mistake on himself. It looks really, really hinky...and we can't muster more than 3 or 4 votes?
Remus, let me ask you: which vote train features more Rebels? The train on Scoop that went to 10 votes without any real reason, or the 4 votes on Chaos that was founded on what appears to be a major dropping of privileged Rebel intelligence?
The sluggishness of action on CR tells me more about his likely Rebel nature than the vote train on Scoop, frankly.

Yes, my statements together make little sense. At this point I have a few people I suspect and I have named them, but they aren't getting any traction. CR seems as good as anyone else. If it was a slip, yay vote him out. If it was an honest argument, well it wasn't a very good one. Intentionally bad argument or just plain bad? Yay, vote him out.El Guapo wrote:I don't understand. Re: Star Wars WW - Day 1
Y'know, I was kind of wondering if CR was going to give us a reason to back off him. Instead with this post (to explain his earlier slip) he went in even deeper.
1. If Scoop hangs and comes back Rebel, we learn quite a bit. Assuming Yoda wouldn't throw his own teammate under the bus, we discover that Dooku is in the game and voted for Scoop. All's well.
But...and here's where Chaos once again digs the hole...
2. If Scoop is lynched and comes back Empire, we learn not very much. We learn that maybe Yoda was asleep at the switch last week the first time Scoop went up. We learn that Dooku is in the game, maybe. Of course, both could still be in-game in this scenario. The Empire gains nothing in this; they lose a teammate, and if Scoop is Empire and swings at N-1, the positive information that is revealed is only to the Rebel side. They know whether the deciding vote on Scoop was cast by Yoda or Dooku. They learn whether Dooku is in the game or not. The Empire does not.
Let's examine what the Empire discovers if--in Chaosraven's hypothetical--Scoop goes to N-1 and hangs this time.Chaosraven wrote:You guys are such Dorks. Re: Star Wars WW - Day 1
Just got caught up reading.
Here are my thoughts.

1. Lassr - He jumped on my bandwagon with a "cause Stess did" reason but other then that I think he is trying to law low.
2. RMC - No read on RMC but if you asked me now I'd say he is actually naturally/empire.
3. Tru1cy - What to do with T? Is he hiding behind the "I will say something when I have something to say" comment? Not sure.
4. Remus West - Wants me dead and I'm pretty sure he thinks I used my emotional outburst as cover. Remus, I say to you I honestly was irritated by pr0ner's joke and I feel bad about my reaction. Yeah, I need to grow a skin. But, I was not an attempting to garner sympathy to stop my train. But, regarding your play to keep your vote on me (which you first put on based solely on avatar) does seem opportunistic to me. I'm leaning rebel on you right now but I could be wrong.
5. Qantaga - Q is playing wallflower. He is someone we need to keep an eye on. I'd expect more analysis from him.
6. Newcastle - Has he targeting computer locked on Unagi. I think Unagi has been aggressive before but I've seen him do this as a good guy. Personally, I'd like to keep Unagi around because he can be laser sharp and sees things I never do. (not Lassr sharp however
)
7. Mr. Bubbles - Bubbs is in the game?
8. Theohall - Playing careful. I could vote theohall today and see how he reacts.
9. Chaosraven - Interesting read by trig on Chaos' comment. I might switch my vote but...
10. Scoop20906 - me
11. Coopasonic - Coop is an interesting character so far. I can't tell if he is playing dumb when confronted with his posts or if he is posting his natural opinion. Hard to tell if he is faking.
12. El Guapo - Love to have him in his first game. I'm reading him Empire right now but the El G is so smart I wouldn't be surprised if he plays like a more experienced player quite quickly especially if he is being coached in the rebel forum.
13. Lord Mortis - No real read on him.
14. Stessier - another one of the opportunistic voters on my bandwagon. Hmmm.
15. Unagi - I really believe Unagi is Empire this game just because he seemed determine to get us off to the right foot. He was wrong about me but he intention was good.
16. Pr0ner - I don't share pr0ner sense of humor but I could do a better job of letting him roll off my shoulders. He attempts to lynch me feel opportunistic however.
17. Semaj - I can't image him being anything but empire.
18. Kenetickid - Very peppy.
19. Triggercut - The one person I feel comfortable is empire and MAN has he been aggressive this game.
20. Isgrimnur - No read. Not even sure he is here.
21. Grundbegriff - Frankly I'm leaning to Grund being a reb this game. He just seems kind of careful.
I'd need to chew on the whole chaosraven thing but for know my vote stays on pr0ner.

Thats not the only possibility. The player with the most votes (Me) would be lynched at the deadline. This would benefit the rebels greatly as they wouldn't need to stick their necks out any further to get me lynched. I'm surprised this hasn't come up yet. I just assumed it was this possibility. I wouldn't be surprised if this has been discussed in the rebel forum and they are playing to stymie other bandwagons from growing past my number. It an interesting possibility and gives us something to look at about the players have who have stuck to my bandwagon after it lost its stream.triggercut wrote:If it works that way, then that is very bad for the Empire.Lassr wrote:If it's like my game then day ends and we go to night without a lynch.triggercut wrote:What happens if we get to deadline with no one at N?

FWIW, I figured the leading vote-getter got executed as well. That at least offers some help in vote analysis in later turns.
The fact that we have a deadline outlined in the rules, but no consequences spelled out for passing that deadline seems like a little bit of a glaring rules omission, no?

Let's ask (with the good 'ole colored text):
bb2112, what happens in the event the deadline passes with no majority reached? Is it like Lassr's game, where there will be no lynch, moving the game to the night cycle? Or is Scoop correct that the player with the most votes will be lynched?

Yeah, a quick read through looking at bb2112's posts showed me nothing of the sort so the question remains. I do find it interesting that people thought we went with the player who had the most votes. I can not remember playing that way before and (obviously) assumed we would simply miss out on our lynch attempt. Either way though my vote stands.pr0ner wrote:I can't find anywhere that says this explicitly, but I would assume it to be true.Remus West wrote:I'm pretty sure that somewhere it says if we do not reach majority by the deadline then we go to night with no lynch.

Remus, why are you assuming and finding interest as regards players in this game who didn't play in whatever game you're referring to?Remus West wrote:Yeah, a quick read through looking at bb2112's posts showed me nothing of the sort so the question remains. How is that peppy?
Scoop and kenetickid smell like Rebels. Which means trig is likely NOT.

When upthread I said my vote on KK was related to nothing, I lied. It was related totally to this activity. The only appearance in this thread since his cursory and unexplained Scoopvote was after I voted for him.

I saw a piece of information and noted it. I also marked it as significant in my mind's eye. I placed a vote based upon that information.

Again, sincere apologies.
It doesn't bother me trig, but it seems that it might bother others. I mean honestly if I am gonna get dinged for reading and re-reading so be it, time on browsing to me can be indicative of someone leaving a window open, reading and analyzing, or just plain old not logging out.

Were I a Rebel, I'd want to leave no such trail of breadcrumbs.

The only appearance in this thread since his cursory and unexplained Scoopvote was after I voted for him. We got a particularly non-convincing explanation of his Scoopvote ("Hey, I was just doing what everyone else was doing!") and a call to join his Rebel buddy Grund in asking about my motives for suspicion.
KK is as Rebel as they get, folks. The evidence is circumstantial, but evidence it is, and better than anything we've got on Scoop right now.
I browse because I am trying to keep abreast of the current conversations so that I am up to date. I respond and post when I feel that I have something to contribute that might actually be worth saying. I will admit that CR's vote for me on the grounds of hey atleast when one of us is dead we can talk about it without spoiling the game itself. On that note Scoop can have the pass he is so desperatly looking for.....

We could apply a perverted Triggercut rule and lynch Triggercut. If he's empire - then we know that KK and Scoop are Rebel.

Assuming that a failure to reach N by deadline sends us to a night turn without testing someone on the gallows...
If that happens, it is rather a spectacular disaster for the Empire. We wake on Day 2 very likely with only 20 players, with the Empire down one from the start of the game, and we're at square one in all likelihood with less time to debate than we had today.
I can see no benefit to the Empire for letting a deadline come and go.

Re: Star Wars WW - Day 1
well, well. During my reread of the ones that still had votes on Scoop, I noticed that Kenetickid was on it for a while and then withdrew toward the end. So I went back to read him and he hadn't posted much. I looked at Scoops list above since I had my vote on him to see what he said about some of the ones with a vote against him. I saw the very peppy and thought "Really with only a handful of posts?"
That's about the time I went to bed last night.
Do I think they both are rebels, it's possible. Scoop could be rebel and since he wouldn't be looking for rebels in the text of the posts he hadn't really noticed that KK hasn't been peppy and just put down some flavor text for him to make it look like he's read the thread. I mean if he has no real read on LordMortis, why not put the same for KK?
KK is laying low, intentional or not I do not know. Popping in to cast a vote, first Scoop then Chaosraven.
I still like my vote on Scoop. KK piqued my interest last night but Scoop has maintained it.

Re: Star Wars WW - Day 1
It could be worse than that if I read the rules correctly. If Obi-Wan is in the game, I think he gets to scan rebel kills the same night the rebels kill them. Normally, he would have to chose between lynch and the current night kill. Not having a choice, Obi-Wan will scan the only kill (assuming the kill isn't protected). If the kill is one of the Empire's powered roles, the rebels could spoof that role if the proper powers are in the game for them.triggercut wrote:Assuming that a failure to reach N by deadline sends us to a night turn without testing someone on the gallows...

There are 3 ways to reach night.Qantaga wrote:Let's ask (with the good 'ole colored text):
bb2112, what happens in the event the deadline passes with no majority reached? Is it like Lassr's game, where there will be no lynch, moving the game to the night cycle? Or is Scoop correct that the player with the most votes will be lynched?
1. If there is not a lynch by the deadline, then the Empire will have forfeited their chance at a lynch that day.
2. If the majority of people vote to pass on a lynch.
3. If the majority decides on a lynch candidate (this, of course, includes overvotes to reach majority).

I'll try to catch up with all the reading today. It appears the last thing I read was trig's post at the top of page 6. Anyone want to give me the Clif Notes version of the last 5 pages?
