Corn on small boat, sugar next size (after lm places).
"Where are you off to?"
"I don't know," Snufkin replied.
The door shut again and Snufkin entered his forest, with a hundred miles of silence ahead of him.

LordMortis chooses either indigo or sugar, and the other is discarded.
It's now El Guapo's turn to select a placard.

Re: Puerto Rico, Game 01: Transit of Venus
I'll choose mayor, and take 2 colonists.
Exact colonist distribution, let me check a few things. So my understanding is that with 5 colonists on the ship, if I pick mayor I get 2 colonists (1 for my share of the 5, then +1 for mayor's bonus).
Given that, I would have four colonists, and so (assuming I un-man my quarry for the moment, could set myself up to produce either 2 tobacco (via putting 2 on the tobacco storage, and 1 on each of my two tobacco plantations), or 1 tobacco and 1 indigo. But it does not seem like there's a ton of point to having 2 tobacco crops around. I can't sell any tobacco in the trader house until someone clears it out via selling corn, and even then I could only sell 1. Meanwhile I can't ship any tobacco via the captain until at least one ship sails, since none of them have tobacco on them. By contrast having 1 tobacco and 1 indigo gives me a lot more flexibility since I could sell either for money, and gives me the option of dumping the indigo at least on a ship if captain gets picked.
Does that all seem vaguely logical?
As such, it seems like the best option is to put 1 colonist on a tobacco plantation, 1 on tobacco storage, 1 on my indigo plantation, and 1 on my indigo processing plant

You get +1 for being mayor. That comes from the pool. Since there are 5 on the ship, everyone (including you) gets one of them.El Guapo wrote:I'll choose mayor, and take 2 colonists.

The only reason Chaosraven received a total of 3 is that there were 6 incoming Colonists, so the selection came back around to him.
Your quarry is now unmanned, and you're set to produce a tobacco and an indigo. As such, it seems like the best option is to put 1 colonist on a tobacco plantation, 1 on tobacco storage, 1 on my indigo plantation, and 1 on my indigo processing plant
Everyone else receives 1 colonist and may rearrange his board. Please report changes in the thread. After that shakes down, we'll calculate the incoming colonist count.
The final turn of Gov. Chaosraven's 1st reign is Newcastle's. Feel free to choose!

Re: Puerto Rico, Game 01: Transit of Venus
do i need to put a colonist on the house of fur (warehouse) to work it?
if yes - put 1 on small warehouse....
if not...put 1 guy on corn.
I'll PM you my choice of card/role selection since i'm after El Guapo.

Yes, a beige building will only be operational if you staff it. If it's manned, you may then choose whether to use it.Newcastle wrote:do i need to put a colonist on the werehouse to work it? if not...put 1 guy on corn.

Ugh you guys stayed up late.
I will choose Indigo for my plantation. (giving me 1 Corn and 3 Indigo)
If you prefer to slow the chaos stop here and I will wait for chaosraven to post his mayor.
.....
If we just want to keep moving then:
I will place my new colonist in my Hospice. (Giving me a manned small indigo plant, hospice, corn plantation, and indigo plantation for a total of 0 unmanned slots on top)

On bottom. You see, they've flipped top and bottom on the new boards.LordMortis wrote:for a total of 0 unmanned slots on top)
EVERYONE: Please look at the picture of the new board on the first page of this thread, near the top. The brown square patches of dirt on top are for farm, and the rectangular paved patches on bottom are for buildings.
In fact, it'll be easier for everyone if we abandon the "top" and "bottom" language in favor of "in my city" and "on my island".

Mayor.
I believe that nets me three colonists (1 from ship + 1 mayor privilege + 1 from ship, second round). If so, please place one colonist in small market, one colonist in corn field, and one colonist on coffee plantation. If I don't get three colonists, let me know and I'll adjust.
On to EG.

El Guapo,
With seven colonists on the ship, I think you get two.

Technically, someone could skip taking and leave extras for someone else past El Guapo. But who would do that?

Oh, Grund, you have my small market in the picture of my board, but not in your last "History" post.

Put mine on small warehouse
"Where are you off to?"
"I don't know," Snufkin replied.

Re: Puerto Rico, Game 01: Transit of Venus
Thanks. LordMortis's has to go one one of his indigo farms, so with a final count of 4 blanks on buildings, there will be 5 colonists on the next incoming ship.Chaosraven wrote:Put mine on small warehouse
