Just so everyone is clear. My compilation is:

NC Crates on Hand: Corn: 00, Indigo: 00, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 01, Coffee:00
CR Crates on Hand: Corn: 02, Indigo: 01, Sugar: 01, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
LM Crates on Hand: Corn: 03, Indigo: 02, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
Q Crates on Hand: Corn: 02, Indigo: 00, Sugar: 01, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
EG Crates on Hand: Corn: 01, Indigo: 02, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00

0/6
Corn 1/7
Tobacco 4/8

LM has the option to use a Wharf for a shipment (Can ship all of any one good for his choice at any round)

Feel free to dispute this.

Ship 2 corn Corn 3/7

Q to choose corn or Sugar
(The question to Q is do you want to ship all or your goods by shipping corn now or have 1 corn left (that does not spoil) by shipping sugar?)

I still get to make a build choice, correct? (Or is there something prohibiting me from building?)

I'm on my phone, at a friend's, so it will be a couple of hours before I can peruse my build options.

As for shipping, I'll ship all, so ship both of my (2) corns first, then sugar next.

Yes, but I'm talking about the PR rules, not about this game. In the rules bank VPs are not hidden but player VPs are.

Although in Grund's photo, it's pretty clear there are still a lot chits left:

http://www.baroquepotion.com/wp-content ... /g-cvp.jpg" target="_blank

Also, I haven't read the rules in long time but this page suggest there are 122 victory chits in a five players game

Thanks. Yes, Grund said that we're playing with 122 victory point chits. I guess what I'm mainly trying to get a sense of (with Newcastle having bought an end-of-game building), how close we are to the end game. My sense is that there's still a fair amount of time left, though I need to go look at people's boards to check that condition.

I think we're back on track now in the Captain's phase, so I'm quoting this, just in case it got lost in the shuffle:

I think it's El Guapo's shipping decision now.

Don't worry about it - it happens. But it's really hard to see how Qantaga's build order would change subsequent shipping decisions. Indeed, were such the case I'd assume that at least one shipping person would have noticed that Qantaga had not made his building decision. So I think we can proceed, and if someone objects then we can deal with that.

Am fine w/ everything including my shipping decission.

steady as she goes.....

ELG - when I played it w/ the Detroit crew...the game ended faster than I thought it would. It just went...poof....gone. I am not going to let that happen to me this game. Maybe it was premature that I bought an end game building maybe not. But I noticed LM doing the same thing in the other game him buying one of those mid way through the game.

Strategically it made sense for me as well. It seems everyone is building up a stockpile of cash, so I might as well nab the building that benefited me the most so far and that would benefit me in the fure.

Given my shipping corn, I *think* the rest of the shipping turn proceeds automatically:

Newcastle - has to ship 1 tobacco to ship 3 - 5/8 tobacco. No crates left on hand.
Chaosraven - has to ship corn, puts 1 corn on ship 2, which fills it up - 7/7 corn. 1 crate of corn left on hand.
Mortis - Ships 2 indigo via his private wharf (do you have to use the wharf if you can?). No crates left on hand.
Qantaga - ships 1 sugar on boat 1 - 2/6. No crates left on hand.
Guapo - 2 indigo left that cannot be shipped, 1 spoils, so 1 crate of indigo left on hand.

Is that right?

edit: forgot that I already sold my sugar. Corrected that above.

You can choose the order you want to ship, but you are forced to ship, if there is a boat with space and you have the goods to fill it when your turn rolls around.

I don't believe that's the case. Per the rules p.7:
On a player’s turn, he must load goods if he can. However, he may only load one kind of good and to only one ship
That could mean that you only have to load goods on your first turn of the captain phase if you can. BUT that's not my understanding - is that wrong?

Wait - I thought shipping was optional of a certain good. If you put 1 of a good out then you had to put all of it. but you could elect not to of a certain good.

HMM, might reconsider that then, Why did I get the feeling that someone passed in shipping earlier in the game...i think it was CR.

LM & CR? Is shipping optional?

If you can ship you must ship but you can decide which good you ship for your order. That's why we pause at anyone with an option. They can affect the options of the next guy.

(Checking to see if the Wharf is an option)
During the captain phase, when a player with an occupied wharf must load goods, instead of loading them on a cargo ship, he may place all goods of one kind in the goods supply and score the appropriate victory points as though he has loaded them on a cargo ship. It is as though the player has an imaginary ship with unlimited capacity at his disposal.
http://www.fwtwr.com/fwtwr/puerto_rico/ ... _wharf.asp" target="_blank

That sounds like I (or any player) must use the Wharf if I (they) have the option.

CR did not skip shipping. He chose to ship one type of good first, so that LM would be forced to fill the ship with CR's second good, meaning CR could keep the second good. It was not voluntary, it was strategic.

I'm on my phone, So I can't link it right now.

LM & CR? Is shipping optional?
The option you get is the choice of which good to ship but if you have a good you must ship it. We go around shipping a single type of good until every that can be shipped is shipped.

This may or may not change your mind. I suggest that captaining is still the right play. If you don't captain, it is highly probable that raven or I will. If you prospect, you get the same two coins minus the extra victory point. Your corn may or may not get shipped that way. That choice is out of your hands.

If we start with this:

NC Crates on Hand: Corn: 01, Indigo: 00, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 01, Coffee:00
CR Crates on Hand: Corn: 02, Indigo: 01, Sugar: 01, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
LM Crates on Hand: Corn: 03, Indigo: 02, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
Q Crates on Hand: Corn: 02, Indigo: 00, Sugar: 01, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
EG Crates on Hand: Corn: 01, Indigo: 02, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00

0/6
Corn 0/7
Tobacco 4/8

LM has the option to use a Wharf for a shipment (Can ship all of any one good for his choice at any round)

You know that all tobacco (one crate) will ship.
You know that I will ship at least one type of good.
You know that one of the following will not ship Corn, Indigo, or Sugar.
You know there are 9 outstanding Corn, 4 Indigo, and 2 Sugar.
Corn will fill any boat and leave 2 to 3 units not shipping unless I ship corn on my Wharf.
I can potentially keep corn from shipping on 7 boat if I send corn from my wharf.
Neither Indigo nor Sugar will fill a boat.

Our decisions mainly start with how you want Corn to ship. Raven then has the chance to determine which good won't go on ship. Then I figure out if it's better to use my Wharf or use the common ships. Etc...

I've had 2 indigo not ship (one of which spoiled) earlier because there was no place for it and Chaosraven also had goods not ship (don't remember what they were) due to ships being full but his goods were preserved by his small warehouse.

Well I'll stick to my decission. And ship 1 corn via the 7 slotter...and then i guess go w/ my wacky tobacky in the 8 slotter.

And here i thought I was being all clever and withholding a good to ship.

So I believe the VP gains are as follows:

Newcastle: +3 VP (including captain's privilege)
Chaosraven: +1 VP
LM: +5 VP
Qantaga: +3 VP
Guapo: +1 VP

That brings up Chaosraven's action choice, I believe.

I'm Going to go out on a limb and assume raven ships a sugar. I then ship corn.

NC Crates on Hand: Corn: 00, Indigo: 00, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
CR Crates on Hand: Corn: 02, Indigo: 01, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
LM Crates on Hand: Corn: 00, Indigo: 00, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
Q Crates on Hand: Corn: 00, Indigo: 00, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
EG Crates on Hand: Corn: 00, Indigo: 02, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00

0/6
0/7
Tobacco 4/8

LM has the option to use a Wharf for a shipment (Can ship all of any one good for his choice at any round)

NC -1 corn +2 VP +2 Doubloon (Corn on 7)
CR -1 sugar +1 VP (Sugar on 6)
LM -3 corn +3 VP
Q -2 corn +2 VP
EG -1 Corn +1 VP (Corn is full)
NC -1 tobacco +1 VP
CR ----
LM -2 Indigo +2 VP (Wharf)
Q -1 sugar +1 VP

CR protected from spoilage by small warehouse.
EG must spoil 1 of his 2 indigo

Corn ship sails.

Ships:

Sugar 2/6
0/7
Tobacco 5/8

Players:

NC Crates on Hand: Corn: 00, Indigo: 00, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
CR Crates on Hand: Corn: 02, Indigo: 01, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
LM Crates on Hand: Corn: 00, Indigo: 00, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
Q Crates on Hand: Corn: 00, Indigo: 00, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00
EG Crates on Hand: Corn: 00, Indigo: 01, Sugar: 00, Tobacco: 00, Coffee:00

Supplies

Coffee crates in supply: 9/9
Tobacco crates in supply: 4/9
Sugar crates in supply: 9/11
Indigo crates in supply: 9/11
Corn crates in supply: 8/10

Lets wait before proceeding so we can have all the new relevant info serve as a block between governorships. Will make it easier to understand the current state of play and will help Grund process stuff when he gets back. Just makes it neater.

Works for me. Did you want to do it or have me? I'll have time to compile something in about 15 minutes. However the compiling for me takes a long time.
