I haven't read the rules. But consider me IN.
Can apply for the role of villager, please?

That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad.

If you get a chance, look 'em over and any suggestions or questions are welcome. The more clear now, hopefully the better the game strategies go.

I'm in.
This time my strategy is going to be to vote for wolves, instead of villagers. Assuming I'm a villager.

I'm too tied up in RL to take on a big game. I'm interested in this one though. If it takes place in the fall instead of the summer, I'll probably join.

Re: Signups open for Monstrumology game [on hold for now!]
I've gotten PMs from a couple of folks who are interested but won't be around for a bit, so at the moment I'm inclined to place the game on hold and will revisit in August/September.

I am so keeping my vote on you for day 1. Even though, the probability that you would be evil three times in a row is small.... hehe...Remus West wrote:Someone has to be lynched day 1. Might as well be me. IN.

Re: Signups open for Monstrumology game SIGNUPS OPEN!
For whatever reason--subject matter, game size, game rules, WW weariness, real life incursions, etc.--it doesn't look like this game will attract enough players to make it particularly viable.
No worries, and sorry about that to those looking for the next game. I'll withdraw this and hopefully someone with a different game can get one going?
Thanks to those who signed up, as well as thanks to those who wanted to but just didn't have the time/enthusiasm to play this one.

Re: Game closed. Someone start another!
You often wonder when the time will come that these games die out. Thought we hit that time a little over a year ago and it picked back up.
Maybe we just need a basic game right now.

I'd say that smaller is probably better right now. These things seem to go in waves.Lassr wrote:You often wonder when the time will come that these games die out. Thought we hit that time a little over a year ago and it picked back up.

trig, I think you've got the structure of an excellent game. As Lassr mentions, I think we're just in a down (enthusiasm) cycle. I think your game will be a fine addition in the next up cycle.

I'll toss out a sign-up for a simple game and see if we can get a quorum.

Nothing wrong with the subject matter. I love your setting and rules, I'm just burned out and need a break right now.triggercut wrote:For whatever reason--subject matter, game size, game rules, WW weariness, real life incursions, etc.--it doesn't look like this game will attract enough players to make it particularly viable.

Size? Well yes, that's a factor. It's quite extraordinary to be able to find 17-19 players for a Werewolf forum game that takes place over weeks of RL time, and it says something about the enthusiasm, popularity and level of the OOWW game club. We've had lots of really well-presented, psychologically interesting and mechanics-experimental games but the nature of WW is that you burn out once in a while - it takes a lot of commitment actually.
Me, I'll be back. But not yet.
