Day 3
Two to go; Dark Mages always travel in three’s. One was dead and two more lurked amongst the villagers.
The villagers gathered around the town square and noticed redrun missing.
Theohall steps up and announces, “Redrun is dead. I stopped by on the way here to see if his Mead was ready and I found him lying in the floor with a poison dart stuck in his face.

The reason I called Kraegor a dope.... now two of the folks bb2112 asked the wolves to kill to "prove" them have been killed by the wolves. Nice job, Kraegor. You seem to have forgotten in small games, the wolves have to kill those who are even semi-proven, because the pool in which they have to hide is too small. You have not wanted to shorten that smaller pool this entire game. Why?

I've explained the benefits of killing your group the entire game. Yesterday, I specifically targeted you. The why is rather obvious seeing as to how I've stated the precise reason already. If you cannot be bothered to remember, I see no benefit in bothering to repeat it. Get off yer lazy wolf ass and look it up.theohall wrote:The reason I called Kraegor a dope.... now two of the folks bb2112 asked the wolves to kill to "prove" them have been killed by the wolves. You are 100% convinced Remus is a wolf and to prove it you risk a lynch the previous day by voting for me and then vote for me again the following day. Now that's true conviction.

Let's take care of the bigger threat. We can come back to Kraegor tomorrow unless he actually does something to help the village instead of continuing to make useless suggestions.theohall wrote: Kraegor

Hey, I played a card too! It's "Escape Lynching" so were I to be lynched today I would not be. I figured with the Seer dead there's really no good village use of the card, so better to use it up (per Lassr it counts as "used" even if I am not lynched), and take it out of circulation rather than having a wolf protect himself with it.
FYI, I suppose.

Well that's a very non-wolf play to tell us he played it..But El Guapo is cagy..Maybe he played the card and told us he played it to make us think he is a villager..Or maybe he didn't really play that card, but told us he played it to protect himself from us lynching him.. I'd ask you to look at the full picture here. No one--other than you and Newcastle yesterday, anyway--is pushing El Guapo to the gallows. So. Let's put up a hypothetical where El G is right now a fairly safely-hidden Wolf. Him playing the card and announcing it has two things going for it:
1. It gives him noose-immunity. That's pretty obvious.
2. It allows him to increase his goodguy bonafides.
Twofold purpose. It's a smart play for El Guapo either way, regardless of his alignment and I'm certainly drawing no conclusions about his alignment based upon that play.

Also, I'm a bit disappointed. Had my hopes up that theo had played a Seance card and coupled with the View From Heaven card that RMC says he played the self-revealing card would have been Bubbles giving us some scan results.
Oh well.
I have questions of my own for Remus, but want to make sure it's him that's answering them and want to see how today plays out a bit before going that route.

The puppet master card makes the player post one thing verbatim from a PM sent them via the mod. That is, the mod gets a PM from the card player telling the target of the card and the message. The Mod then PMs the target telling them their next post must be the message. In my case, the message was as you saw. I assume that theohall actually used the card on me due to his earlier post rather than someone else trying to mess with both of us but I'll let him confirm it.triggercut wrote:Also, I'm a bit disappointed. I had the Scramble card, and played it right away, right now, when there were only 2 votes outstanding. Seemed a safe thing to do, and burns the card so that Team Evil cannot use it later in the game when the majority to hang is smaller, or that second use of the Deadline card is in play.

Yes, I played the Puppetmaster on Remus West.
The purpose is to use up it's uses so a wolf does not force one of us to post an accuse tag on someone who is already at N-1 - the Nth vote . Unfortunately, the card has 4 more uses, unless someone else used it in the past.

That could be one overpowered card.

I think you can safely rule out the possibility that I didn't actually play the card. If I didn't play the card, then another villager may (probably) be dealt the card on a later day. Presumably said villager would then mention this to the village, and I would look very bad indeed.RMC wrote:Well that's a very non-wolf play to tell us he played it..But El Guapo is cagy..Maybe he played the card and told us he played it to make us think he is a villager..Or maybe he didn't really play that card, but told us he played it to protect himself from us lynching him.. Otherwise I don't think this really moves the needle much on me. I mostly posted it to add to the information pool of the village.
Also - I am amused that it seems like most cards, in the hands of villagers, appear to effectively play as "play this card to avoid having the wolves play it later."

I see a lot of cards were played today, with no super useful results. I'm happy with where my vote is. I would be willing to switch to Kraegor if the prevailing winds go that way, but would prefer to take out the bigger threat with Remus. I'm not even really looking at anyone else today.
That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad.

I could switch, too. Just want to see where the rest of the field goes.bb2112 wrote:Well, just got home from my first day. Long day. I finally got a computer at 5pm. No passwords though. Again with the twisting of things theo.theohall wrote:Because his entire plan has been to essentially kill villagers to prove they are villagers, instead of narrowing the smaller pool.stessier wrote: Theo, why is your vote on Kraegor and not Remus? I suggested testing an unproven pseudo-seer with a napolean complex. Look at the mileage you've gotten out of that one play. Pull a card and say, "this guy is villager I have seen it!" A perfectly mage-like thing to do. I think it's been done once in a previous game. There may even be a forum dedicated to that exploit where for some reason people keep doing variations on the theme.
And yet in the lynch department, you've done the exact same things I have done. You voted for and killed chaosraven and missed out on killing newcastle. Of course your behavior is more suspicious because you backed out of the kill of newcastle to activate scramble as a last second bailout option.
What I see is the behavior of a mage. You see a slam dunk on remus, so you want to see if you can get traction on another train to narrow the village's focus.
You placed votes on one of the supposed proven pool you have so much faith in. Even managed to get a 4 vote train rolling.

I simply made the argument to see what kind of reactions I would get. And all I wanted to do was prove with certainty what bb2112's role was. A move that was without risk because he had a card that would prevent his lynching and prove his role unequivocally. And you were against it because of course, we should just trust you.

I'll probably doom myself by keeping sordid company...but theo, care to explain this?Kraegor wrote: You placed votes on one of the supposed proven pool you have so much faith in. Even managed to get a 4 vote train rolling.

Sure, redrun was acting weird at that point - on Day One. Didn't stay on that vote, did I. Kraegor twists words too. He's pretty good at it. Even after Day One, he was still pushing the lynch-a-likely villager plan.triggercut wrote:I'll probably doom myself by keeping sordid company...but theo, care to explain this?Kraegor wrote: You placed votes on one of the supposed proven pool you have so much faith in. Nope. All my explanations and reasoning have been straightforward. I've even gone so far as to have other people clarify my points for me.
You on the other hand keep trying to paint me in off colors. I've simply been noting your inconsistencies. The only twisting has been in your presentation of my stance.
