[WW] Thar be wolves.....! (sign ups closed!)
Since there are a few calls for a game. I'll start a relatively simple one. If the roster expands past say...I dont know...13, i'll add in a few twists and turns.
SIGN UPS CLOSE AT NOON today (PST)
EDIT TO ADD - Hopefully we can get enough to start it by the end of the week..that's kind of my goal. But we'll see.
But otherwise -
2-3 Wolves (if have about 10-11 - 2 wolves; over 12-13 - probably be 3 wolves- this is open for suggestions as well)
1 seer
-rest villagers
-possible roles to add in if get above 13:
GOOD GUYS
-Priest (classic protection role - cant do back to back on same person)
-Hunter (classic shooter - 1 shot, 1 kill)
EVIL
-Berserker - this wolf go BOOM!
(i'd be open to adding other roles. But i wont make it too exotic)

That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad.

Re: [WW] Thar be wolves in this village! (sign ups!)
So we're at 12 people signed up, kind of the in-between stage of 2 or 3 wolves. I think I'll sent out a few PM's to a few of the former regulars to see if they are interested (isgrinmur, Triggercut, Unagi, Stessier, Grund...come to mind off hand) just to bump the number to 13. I assume they'd sign if they so had desire.
CAn anyone think of any other folks who wanted to join previously? Warpig springs to mind as well. i wont bother folks for a few more hours I think though.
Anyway - I hope to start this tomorrow, and I intend on starting it on a day cycle not night cycle with Kinetic kid being the honorary victim. I just like day starts because it gives everyone a chance to participate and I think kind of gives an even start to things.

Nope no castle. But it will be thematic...a scene we've not visited for one...wont be james bondsey nor like the viking one...ie marked for death. But definetly a theme there will be.theohall wrote:There is a castle in this village? Ooohhh... Shiny!stessier wrote:I'm going to sit this one out due to the new job and house hunt.

Or at least that is what I tell my girls when we make one that way.
Of course I bought a princess castle tent thing that is like a tower, so it makes a perfect addition to the 'castle' we make.

Re: [WW] Thar be wolves.....! (sign ups close at NOON TODAY!
Couple of housekeeping notes -
I plan on the roster being this -
EVIL =
3 wolves
-2 regular wolves
-1 Bersker - upon lynch can take out 1 person
Good =
11 Villagers
9 Normal
1 Hunter - 1 shot 1 kill
1 seer - can find the true nature of someone during the night phase
FAQ-
- If we get more I'll add in the priest role and probably give a scanning ability to a wolf. The threshold to go to 4 wolves will be 16, but I doubt we'll hit it.
- I dont plan on having time limits, but if the game starts to grind down I'll put some in play. I will note I am a proponent of letting players figure things out, but if I need to step in I will. I'll use my own discretion when this should happen.
How time limits could work-I'll usually give between a 48-96 hour window. IE on day 1 i could hint at a time limit coming down the pike, on day 2 I could give a 24 warning that its happening, then on day 3 officially give a 2 day warning. Or I could just say you have 4 days before the time limit is hit.
- IF a time limit is reached a lynch will only occur if a majority is reached, otherwise you enter the night phase without a lynch occurring. So yeah a skip is possible.

Oh I wanted to ask something to people in general- I am thinking that evil doesnt know the true nature of someone they take out at night? Good or bad?
I can easily go they do find out so they can spoof. But with them not knowing it leaves them quite a bit of uncertainty. Might be more difficult for them. I also dont mind switching do that they do find out the nature of their night kill.
Thoughts?

If there are two wolves, make one a berserker and one a coroner? Rather than giving them the answer, they can choose to find out who they kill or who the villagers killed...<shrug> Always like it better when everyone has to work for it. If there are three wolves, then it is even better that one would not be a special with 2 special wolves..Newcastle wrote:Oh I wanted to ask something to people in general- I am thinking that evil doesnt know the true nature of someone they take out at night? So much for simple game I guess. I'm in favor of no powers or extra knowledge for the wolves. The begin the game with the power to communicate with each other and know who is not on their side. That in itself is pretty huge.

i think i'll go with not finding out, but if we get an influx of players I might add in a coroner wolf.
I kind of like hte not finding it out because the element it brings. Also due to the fact there is no protection in the game right now that serves as a kind of counterbalance.
Duly noted about the no powers bit Remus - i'll see what others say about it and keep an open mind on it.

I agree with Remus. Keep it simple as more complex the rules the longer the game takes. Btw, only reason why I signed up is for the simplicity not interested in a complex extremely long game

- Ok I'll make sure the wolves remain unpowered for the most part outside of what they do have. I think to balance this I wont add any further good roles. Maybe a protector/priest, but only if we hit like 16-17 people.
