Unless the seer is a rookie, there is a good chance Remus will not get scanned since he is often an early lynch target. Better safe than sorry. He was on my short list in round 1 and I see no reason to remove him from my list.
So, your reasoning for voting me today is that I haven't done anything in the single day and night we have had to earn your trust?
and the way you kept harping on the "villager thinking a trap has been set and letting the village know" scenario yesterday felt wolfy.
You still do not see what I was saying at all. Lets try one more time. The idea is that when I looked at what scoop did I did not think "trap". I thought "weird". Your mindset said "trap". To me, wolves look for "traps", I don't look at behaviors as though they might be traps when I'm a villager - thus you looking at Scoop's behavior as though it is a trap makes me think you are worried about stepping in a trap. It had nothing to do with letting people know or not. It had to do with what you are looking for in the original post.
and see there you go again...I didn't say I saw it as a trap. RMC did, I was commenting on why if he saw it as a trap or fact gathering post, why would he announce it to everyone to spoil the ploy.
My posts were about RMC not Scoop.

Aargh. Just irritating.
Wow. That is a total overreaction. I got the joke. I was playing along to see who else would follow. Theohall looks pretty suspicious. Not only does he follow, but he labels your innocent comment as a slip. But then you do this. Aren't you a little experienced to throw a tantrum and self vote? Especially on day one?
Don't you think this might be calculated to see whom does what? Hmmmm......
So did I call it out as a trap? Nope, just let BB(The same one that got killed by the wolves) know that this might be calculated. As a matter of fact, BB says he get's the joke. Did he call out his own over reaction?

Does it warn people not to over react? I guess, but really...the only one to over react was BB. <sigh>

So Lassr, are you building a case against me, or Remus? Or just trying to stir the pot yourself as a wolf?

Have I voted for you? This started as a simple reaction to what Scoop said about your post about his tantrum. Remus kept reading my posts wrong and that is where my curiosity picked up so this is more about Remus than you.

Now why would you answer that? You don't want to see what he does when the pressure is on him - or the perception of pressure? Why reassure him that you are targeting me and not him? Also, I thought this was about what RMC said about Scoop's post NOT what Scoop said about RMC's reaction. You were the one that said it was interesting that RMC seemed to point out it was a potential "trap". Scoop just said that RMC enjoyed it and treated it as though he were happy Scoop was blowing a gasket.

Please... go look at my Day One track record. It's all over the map. Now, when we have more information to go on...yes, I tend to have blinders then. Like right now, I believe Scoop to be right. All of the comments he made about the reactions of others to his post seem to be spot on and the only one acting like they "know" something is RMC.
RMC is the only one that mentions it in the thread. I suspected Scoop was up to something also because that "hissy fit" was a bit out of character. Now, on the other hand, IF I suspect that someone is setting a trap, I as a villager will not post I think it's a trap. All that does is destroy any chance the trap may work. So I wonder if a lot of us thought Scoop was up to something and only RMC posted it.

THAT is where I wonder about RMC. Why give away the fact that you think Scoop is up to something and warn the wolves unless you are a wolf.

But how many times have villagers noted someone is up to something out of innocence/ignorance. A bunch.

So your flip flopping and RMC's announcement that Scoop could be up to something are the two big pieces if info I am working with right now. Nothing else has stood out to me.

I'm trying to get the point across that these were the posts that started what I was talking about. We have now taken a very simple thing that started with a few lines and blown it up into pages of whatever you want to call it. It now feels like Remus is using this as a distraction. Thus my vote for him.

I tire of this conversation. I do not suspect RMC but Remus started down this path of me stating I thought Scoop was laying a trap, which I did not, and why would a normal want to avoid a trap, which I never mentioned. A total misread on his part of what I was saying. Feels like evil Remus.

This is such a curious game.

Apparently half of it is remembering behavior and tendencies from past episodes. I'm having a bootstrap problem.

I'm voting for you because your anger and frustration remind me of some evil play by people in the past.

Holman seems overly cautious, even for a newbie, but I think if he's evil, he'll give himself enough rope to use later that I need not focus on him now.

anger...no. frustration...yes.

Frustration that no one else seems to see that Remus took some of my statements and warped them into something else. Wolf or not, he did not help the village by doing that.

If I am a wolf then I have played very very poorly this game drawing so much attention to myself.

No more than you did with RMC's but yes, I did do that, didn't I.
Wolf or not, he did not help the village by doing that.
That remains to be seen doesn't it.
If I am a wolf then I have played very very poorly this game drawing so much attention to myself.
Did you draw the attention to yourself or did I point it there?

So, what have I gleaned from my hassling Lassr? In fact, I lean towards his being good. I'm not sold on it but I do lean that way. A wolf would have tried to be more open to seeing my position rather than holding firm to their own. Probably would have posted something to the effect of "I see how you could read it that way but what I meant was...." Doesn't really matter that much to me as it wasn't really about him.

Go back and look at how other people handle it. What do they think of me when I and Lassr when I began. What do they think of us (at least openly) now? Who doesn't even acknowledge that he and I having an exchange? Why wouldn't they? I find a few very interesting things in there. I'll share later but for right now I wanted folks to know where I'm looking if not yet what/who I'm looking at.

This is where my newbie confusion shows up again: how have I been "overly cautious"?

I've been talking a lot, as I was under the impression that being silent was a way to look like a wolf. If you lynch me for a wolf, that just means the real wolves have hung back and let me talk myself into some kind of trouble.

If you think I'm acting like a newbie wolf, please tell me what a newbie villager does differently!

You answered your won question. It isn't about not looking like a wolf. It is about poking and prodding the others into revealing if they are a wolf or not.

Except it *is* about not looking like a wolf, isn't it? Everyone in the game looks like a wolf to everyone else until they're (more or less) ruled out.

I'm taking the long view. For some reason I look like a wolf to two voters right now, and I'd like to know why. I decided pr0ner looks like a wolf because he was talking so little, although now (I notice) he's talking more.

Still looking for a positive reason to vote for a wolf. But it seems to me that the game is mostly about looking for reasons not to vote for someone.

Actually if you are a villager, you should be there to protect the seer. So you need to be some what sneaky that you trip the wolves into thinking you might be the seer when you are not, so they kill you at night. But at the same time, don't get yourself lynched as a wolf by the other villagers.

I still get tripped up and somehow look like a wolf when I am not. <shrug> But that's 1/2 the fun.

Not really sure who is a wolf yet, but this is getting fun. :)

Heck, I will even do a threat list everyone promises to vote with me. Any takers?

No more than you did with RMC's but yes, I did do that, didn't I.
All I pointed out was why RMC would state what he did when he did. I didn't twist anything.

If your whole theatrics was just a show to get reactions then Yes it remains to be seen, But I'm not completely sold on that yet.

Well I never tried to down play it, back off, or avoid it after you pointed toward it.

No promises.

However, I'm interested in seeing your threat list. I'll even work on one of my own, as a bit of quid pro quo.

State of the Game:

- Remus, Lassr, RMC. They fall into their own mini-game of point/counterpoint. It is possible that they are three innocents pulling at meaningless threads (is/was). That is the usual outcome of such semantics. Remus now claims it was a deliberate gambit. At the back of my mind, I wonder if it's not an elaborate (wolf) game (particularly between Remus and Lassr) designed to create distance with a very public disagreement about little more than tilting at windmills.

- RMC. RMC is very active early. Pulls in bb's post history, engages with Remus and Lassr on the "emotional" Scoop Day 1 antics. Remus and RMC even have a nice, little, public sidebar about who RMC thinks is evil. RMC then analyzes the votes and comes to the conclusion pr0ner is evil.

- Holman and Vorret. Playing the newbie cards to full effect. Vorret wonders more than once why poor Remus is being persecuted.

- Scoop. Makeup and hair are fabulous, but engagement is minimal. Proposes a threat list that should be of interest. There is the intriguing "I don't want to jump the gun" comment to ponder when he calls for everyone to check in.

- Lagom. Makes an early appearance and places a quick vote on El Guapo. Calls me to task for speculating that wolves may have been acting on bb's quick kill of theo. There are those that fall very squarely on both sides of my hypothetical scenario.

- El Guapo. Checks in, per Scoop's request. Explains how his behavior (that Lagom is using to vote against him) is his normal OOWW persona, then does a Keyser Soze.

- Mr Bubbles. Thinks Remus is a good test, but doesn't vote. Speculates very briefly (twice) about bb's death.

- tru1cy.. Pops in after Super Bowl high (congrats! by the way. I was hoping for a Flacco/Ryan Super Bowl, alas). Jumps on Holman decisively, declaring bb's death to be a newbie move.

- pr0ner. Sees anger in Lassr's part of the Remus/Lassr/RMC triangle and votes as such.

Voting:

- On the theo vote: Qantaga, Remus West, Lagom Lite, RMC, pr0ner, Holman, Vorret, bb2112.
- Not on the theo vote: Lassr, Mr Bubbles, Scoop, El Guapo, tru1cy, theo.

At the moment, Mr Bubbles, El Guapo, and tru1cy are persons of interest, but I'll consider further while I await Princess Scoop's proposed threat list.
