I think Remus is a better lynch today (look at him throwing accusations around) but we need to come to a consensus. Not lynching is a worse alternative, and tru1cy is possibly a wolf.

This might be a play by tru1cy to make himself seem human. Pleading for his life is not the optimal thing to do as a wolf right now, with deadline so close. Trying for a non-lynch (by making players believe he's innocent) is the correct wolf play.tru1cy wrote:fair warning... so the village doesn't lose a lynch I am more than willing to vote for myself if we get to crunch time

(Of course, it assumes tru1cy won't actually self-vote when it comes down to it - just that he's claiming to. )

Kind of feels rotten that a super helpful tru1cy feels like a wolf tru1cy, doesn't it?
I say we use tru1cy today (as in Thursday) and not tempt the fickle fate of deadlines.

I do want to comment on one thing.
I wouldn't mind testing Lassr today also since a wolf Lassr potentially points to a wolf RMC which was my original theory. I'm trying to be objective here however.

Don't self vote please. If you are innocent we really need that data point of another vote.
Save the self vote if we are close to the deadline Friday and we have no alternative.

Btw, please forgive any perceived frustration..
While I am frustrated for obvious reason I understand why I am being targeted
Btw, pay attention to all the excuses that are being presented for those on my vote. It's already started
btw, I am not moving my vote again. The die have been cast

throwing accusations around? I have voted for Vorret. That is my accusation. The rest is questioning people's actions. Do I doubt many of you? No, that would be an understatement. I doubt all of you not just some. Some more than others but if you think I'm not looking for off behavior in everyone you underestimate my paranoia.Lagom Lite wrote:I think Remus is a better lynch today (look at him throwing accusations around) but we need to come to a consensus. I'm uneasy about the strength of the case against tru1cy, though I'm not sure I see a compelling alternative. But it's good to shoot for getting the lynch in today as you say. I'll re-read more today and see where I come out.Scoop20906 wrote:Kind of feels rotten that a super helpful tru1cy feels like a wolf tru1cy, doesn't it?

I still think that Mr. Bubbles creeps me out. He drops in, posts a little, and then disappears.
So I say
Mr. Bubbles
I can and will switch my vote if we are not going to lynch someone on Friday, but I prefer the bubble man.

Re: [WW] -The Pirates of the Flying Octopi -Day 2 DEADLINE 2
Day 2 (to date) thoughts / summary / running retro-diary:
- Why bb discussion: Holman says he was just getting suspicious of bb because his end of day 1 seemed "stage"; that answer sets off "alarm bells" with Lassr; Vorret, like Holman, is surprised b/c he was suspicious of bb; Qantaga notes that the wolves could have speculated that bb was the seer due to him not waiting for an info dump from theo; RMC finds Qantaga's theory to be a "stretch"; Mr Bubbles says he doesn't think bb was the seer, but was just chosen to "sew confusion"; Lassr agrees with Qantaga; Lagom says Qantaga's theory is "the dumbest thing I've heard in this thread yet";
- Scoop: check in / "jump the gun" post; talks about his mythical "threat list"; while voting for Remus, says that we need to test RMC within a day or two;
Lagom - re-reads day 1 and votes for me based on me being "non-committal"; lists Qantaga, RMC, and Mr Bubbles as "trending good"; follows Lassr in voting for Remus;
RMC - says he voted for theo day 1 b/c once theo votes he will stay that way until dead (though in this case theo had already moved his vote before the deadline), and RMC didn't want to die; does a post where he analyzes bb's posts involving tru1cy, RW, RMC, and bb, and then suddenly says (without obvious explanation as to why) that "proner would be a good vote today"; Remus notes the pr0ner oddness I just noted; RMC replies that bb didn't seem to have much clue on the wolves, so he picked pr0ner b/c he was silent; RMC then analyzes the theo vote train speculating that a wolf would be one of the first few on the train, then voting for pr0ner who was vote #5
Vorret - votes for Holman after Holman ponders how day 1 could have gone better; Holman replies that he was talking about process, not result;
Lassr - votes for Remus because the seer probably would not scan Remus due to Remus often being an early lynch target (and for harping on the "trap" thing day 1); Mr Bubbles agrees with picking Remus (without rationale) but does not vote for him; Remus & Lassr (and RMC) argue about traps and whatnot; Remus concludes that Lassr is "leaning good" at the end because Lassr stuck to his position rather than trying to seem open to how Remus was phrasing things;
tru1cy - says that killing bb was a "newbie wolf" move, and votes for Holman; questioned by Qantaga, who asks what reason there is to believe that n00b wolf Holman would be controlling the night kill;
Holman - votes for pr0ner on the idea that the wolves have decided to lay low; withdraws his pr0ner vote right after RMC does; sounds artificial somehow, esp. quote "I've been talking a lot, as I was under the impression that being silent was a way to look like a wolf."
pr0ner - says he could vote for Lassr or Holman, and votes for Lassr because of his "anger and frustration" reminds him of past wolves; notes that Holman looks "overly cautious" but delays voting for him to see what else comes out of him;
Qantaga - does a helpful mid-game analysis;
Mr Bubbles - pops in with one sentence about how he re-read the Lassr - Remus fight and Lassr looks good so voting for Remus (without any elaboration);

This interests me.. I posted more than one sentence, but you would like to frame my participation that way.. Interesting. I've also elaborating on my vote for Remus, so you are working your way up the chart, but this wouldn't be the first time when people panic they turn to me... I expect it from RMC, but not you.El Guapo wrote: Mr Bubbles - pops in with one sentence about how he re-read the Lassr - Remus fight and Lassr looks good so voting for Remus (without any elaboration);

I should add in terms of clarification that I'm not saying that you only posted one sentence in all of day two; it's one sentence in support of your vote. Activity by you elsewhere is noted in other parts (like in the "why bb discussion" part, for example. What I posted is a non-organized set of notes, FYI.

Unsure of what to make of him, frankly. I feel like him and Scoop regularly do these probing games which yield useful information but (since they're consistently done and full of misdirection) make it hard to separate villager Remus from wolf Remus. Like, his tiff with you - gambit to get info, wolf effort to get you wrongfully lynched? Both?Lassr wrote:What is your take on Remus?El Guapo wrote:Day 2 (to date) thoughts / summary / running retro-diary:

Vorret - votes for Holman after Holman ponders how day 1 could have gone better; Holman replies that he was talking about process, not result;
Lassr - votes for Remus because the seer probably would not scan Remus due to Remus often being an early lynch target (and for harping on the "trap" thing day 1); Mr Bubbles agrees with picking Remus (without rationale) but does not vote for him; Remus & Lassr (and RMC) argue about traps and whatnot; Remus concludes that Lassr is "leaning good" at the end because Lassr stuck to his position rather than trying to seem open to how Remus was phrasing things;
tru1cy - says that killing bb was a "newbie wolf" move, and votes for Holman; questioned by Qantaga, who asks what reason there is to believe that n00b wolf Holman would be controlling the night kill;
Holman - votes for pr0ner on the idea that the wolves have decided to lay low; withdraws his pr0ner vote right after RMC does; sounds artificial somehow, esp. quote "I've been talking a lot, as I was under the impression that being silent was a way to look like a wolf."
pr0ner - says he could vote for Lassr or Holman, and votes for Lassr because of his "anger and frustration" reminds him of past wolves; notes that Holman looks "overly cautious" but delays voting for him to see what else comes out of him;
Qantaga - does a helpful mid-game analysis;
Mr Bubbles - pops in with one sentence about how he re-read the Lassr - Remus fight and Lassr looks good so voting for Remus (without any elaboration);
I also wonder the degree to which your conviction on Remus might be borne out of frustration over banging your head against the wall in your talks with him.
Anyway, to sum up, I'm uncertain, and could be talked into him.

I'm also curious what's your best guess on who the wolf on the tru1cy train is (I'm assuming the "on there somewhere" refers to the tru1cy train).Lassr wrote:ok, enough.
withdraw tru1cy
After looking this over, I'm not convinced on tru1cy but Remus still is on top of my list. Everything he has done just screams wolf Remus to me. I think that is where we should go with our vote.
The tru1cy vote got up to 5
I think one wolf is on there somewhere and the other two are not. I really really want to test Remus.Remus West (1)- Mr. Bubbles,

Thanks for that useful collation, El Guapo!
I see now that a villager's death means nothing so long as the wolves all get it before the end.
That said, I'm highly suspicious of Tru1cy's flamboyant self-voting (since rescinded, but promised for later if necessary). I can't make sense of why a villager would offer to sacrifice himself. It does nothing but throw off everyone's calculations and tilt the odds in the Wolves' favor. I think it was calculated drama, and probably a smokescreen.
Therefore Tru1cy
Just to clarify here--since that time, I've come to the Copernican revelation that playing Werewolf is not about not-getting-lynched, but about lynching. I know it's dumb, but I went through a whole game and a day believing that the point of life as a villager was to stay alive. I was letting the role-playing aspect get the better of me. In a real-life scenario, every villager definitely has an interest in not being killed. Maybe I've just read too much Shirley Jackson.El Guapo wrote: Holman - votes for pr0ner on the idea that the wolves have decided to lay low; withdraws his pr0ner vote right after RMC does; sounds artificial somehow, esp. quote "I've been talking a lot, as I was under the impression that being silent was a way to look like a wolf."

Heh, yeah - how sweet it is to give one's life for the village. I think anyone would favor living than dying (get to play longer), but WW is a team sport. So it generally benefits the village especially for non-special villagers to get out there, as even if they get lynched it generates info for the village.Holman wrote:Thanks for that useful collation, El Guapo!

As for the self-vote, it never benefits the village (that I'm aware of), but it happens pretty regularly out of frustration.

Am I the only one that doesn't feel good about lynching Tru1cy?
The reason for the vote feel weak (I mean, he's being too helpful? Really?)
I know we have to lynch someone though...

Ok, I've got a theory now that connects Lassr to RMC.
I really want to test RMC because if I WAS right about him then I'm convinced that Lassr has coached him on at least one occasion.
However, I don't think I can get trains on either in time and frankly RMC's reaction felt quite genuine that I think he us team good.
Holmann just made the best post I've ever seen him write so he is either finally really getting the game the way it's played on OO or he also is bring coached. I don't think so.
I don't feel comfortable lunching anyone else at this point other than tru1cy (based on his behavior).
He is the best test today. Come guys, lets get this done.

I have gone on the record many times here about how much I despise the self-vote.
Vorret wrote:The reason for the vote feel weak (I mean, he's being too helpful? Really?)
My vote is not on tru1cy because he's being too helpful. However, since tru1cy himself has ignored the reason I'm voting for him, it shouldn't surprise me that others would, too.

See we covered this earlier, if you are a pirate, don't vote for yourself. Now if you are a wolf. Go ahead and vote for yourself.tru1cy wrote:Ok tru1cyScoop20906 wrote:Ok, I've got a theory now that connects Lassr to RMC.

I am not voting for you, I don't think you are on team wolf.
Now Scoop is just mad, because my girls have the princess castle and he has nothing but his butt ugly tiara.
And Lassr has helped me many times in WW games, but not this one.
