I doubt this moves us in the right direction but since everyone has stopped posting I suppose the only option is
JD
I guess it comes down to that I'd rather lose to someone playing the game than not playing so we may as well be certain of the silent.

Re: Battle of the Presidents
I think he is implying that the silents are mostly not the bad guys, as they still need to be active, therefore the totally silent ones are most likely just regular guys. The ones to worry about are the ones that jump in, post something without any substance and then bounce back out. Kind of like me.Vorret wrote:Uh?Remus West wrote:I doubt this moves us in the right direction but since everyone has stopped posting I suppose the only option is

So while he hates to vote for a silent, as he doesn't think it provides any benefit, he will. So he is basically laying the ground work for plausible deniability. (How do you spell that???) Anyway that is my take.

Re: Battle of the Presidents
That makes more sense now, I understand the reasoning, we did get lucky a few times with silent wolves but in JD's case he's more than likely a regular republican BUT he's been more than silent so keeping him in the game is hurting us more than anything at the moment.
Now let's hope the wolves eats another silent and we can get the ball rolling again!
Also, I'm back from vacations ( ) so more posting from me!

Titan game. We are playing a 5 player online game with CR, redrun, LM, bb2112, and myself. I should really throw it open to get people from here that might be interested to play as well next game. I have attacked his Titan stack with my own which means one of us will be eliminated. Hopefully and likely him.Vorret wrote:The what ?

Re: Battle of the Presidents
It isn't. It would be difficult to explain online I think. The basic idea is that everyone begins in a tower and moves around the game board based on a six sided die and the movement restrictions on the board. You must move at least one of your legions each turn but do not have to move more than one. When you move you have the ability to muster new units to join your legion based upon where you land and what you already have. Each legion can consist of up to 7 units and may split at any time as long as each legion they split into contains at least 2 units. As your legions move and encounter opposing legions you use the units to fight on a battle board. If you lose your Titan unit you are eliminated.Vorret wrote:Looks complicated!
As for what I was referring to, I have attacks bb2112's legion containing his Titan with my own. Thus one of our Titans will be killed and we will be eliminated.

Re: Battle of the Presidents
I didn't even look at the price from that site. I have no idea what it runs these days. I bought my first copy for $20 in the mid 80s then when it came back into print bought the "new" version for 70 something iirc. I'd think you could beat 100 bucks but haven't looked in a long time.
Word of warning - it can be a long game. If you are playing a game with more than 2 people (it works very well 2 player imo) and someone gets eliminated early they may find themselves sitting around for several hours while the game finishes. I actually prefer playing it live as a 2 player just for this reason. If you play with more than 3 then the eliminated players can play something else while they wait but it is not an easy game to gauge time requirements for due to the need to track down the opposing Titans. If they are lucky in running around the game board it can take a long time even if you have them overwhelmed in power.

Following the death of J.D. the committee adjourns for the night. During the after-party a scuffle is heard in the hallway. The investigation shows a cut rope as if the Democrats were interrupted in their attempt to take out a Republican.
It is now Day 3. Six votes are required for the next treason trial.
