Do you heart Alienware?
Well, when the time comes and I get the money (soon, hopefully), I want to somehow upgrade the computer I've inherited. I was thinking of just plain buying a new one since it's horrible out of date. It's an AMD Athlon 900 MHz, 256 MB RAM, 20 gig HD, and a 128 MB GeForce 4. Would it be better to buy stock, like Dell or HP, or is Alienware a better deal? I like what AW has to offer, but I'm wary on how their tech support will be, etc.

Have you considered Falcon Northwest? The Talons are excellent deals, imo, from a boutique shop.

And their Fragbox is too cute for words.
That said, I own a Dell and it's a rock hard beast. I'm fed up with Dell's pricing structure though. It's gone past confusing into deceptive, imo.

I have a Falcon Northwest Mach V (bought in 2001). My only experience with their tech support has been to have them answer my questions via email, but they have always been very prompt about that.
The machine itself is getting a little long in the tooth, but it still runs well and I don't have the money to replace it right now. I am thinking of picking up a new Talon after I get my tax refund back, though.

Check out the rumored sales at Best Buy for Black Friday. I don't know what comes with that emachine, but any XP 2800 with a 15" LCD for $350 sounds like a good deal to me. Even with top of the line upgrades, the cost will probably much less than any Alienware.
