Want a game that will show off my card...

Post by Little Raven »

I just got a new 6600GT, and I'd like something that will make use of this new bit of technology. Give me some eye candy, baby!

I already have Far Cry, (which looks beautiful) so stay away from the FPS genre for now. I'll no doubt pick up Doom III at some point, though.

I'm leaning towards Dawn of War. Would that be a good choice? Any other ideas?

Hmm.. Half-Life 2's probably the best looking game out there right now, but it's a FPS.

Silent Storm's a cool game, but I doubt it would tax a high end video card. There's not much in terms of pixel shading or lighting if I remember correctly.

I haven't played it, but Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is supposed to be absolutely gorgeous.

Dawn of War is supposed to look boss at the really high settings. Plus you can have a LOT of high rez mayhem if your rig can handle it.

I've seen some really really nice Guild Wars screens at high rez.

Well, I caved last night and got Dawn of War.

Superhiro was right. It definately looks boss.

But so far it's actually a pretty cool game. Gotta love orks!

I'd recommend Everquest 2. Looks amazing at higher settings. Try out the demo.

He meant groovy.
I spent 90% of the money I made on women, booze, and drugs. The other 10% I just pissed away.
