[Nostalgia fans] Real liberated games available!

Post by Kasey Chang »

Never saw this website mentioned, so I thought it's worth posting here...

There's a website that checks and verifies that a certain game has been liberated (i.e. offered for free) by its developer. That website is

http://liberatedgames.org/

While a lot of the games are only released as source code, many classics such as Grand Theft Auto / GTA2, the Cinemaware games, and so on are now available in playable form!

And this website can cite each and every license deal. No abandoneware myth here... This is the real and legal thing.

I'm surprised they don't have Betrayal at Krondor. That's the first game I can remember that was "liberated". Plus, it's a great game.

Read the news section. All of the "previously liberated" stuff from Sierra is no longer available. That includes Red Baron (16-color), and others.

Yeah, this site is great. It's how I first heard about the Comanche Hokum fan patches.
