With Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary looming, candidates were busy scurrying around the Granite State making last-minute campaign stops. For most this means photo taking and glad-handing. But few were expecting to get smacked by the Rubber Boot-Hat of Freedom or brushed by the Giant Toothbrush of Democracy.

But that’s exactly what happened to Ted Cruz, whose pit stop was interrupted by his fellow presidential candidate Vermin Supreme, who had some choice words for Cruz that he delivered with a megaphone.

For starters Supreme, who has pledged to give every American a pony, grilled Cruz on whether waterboarding water should be fluoridated and demanded that the candidate come out with his “hands up” and his “pants down.”

Supreme also asked Cruz “Why do you hate America?” before posing perhaps the most salient question of all to prospective voters:

“Will Ted Cruz give you a pony?”

A contributor to the Huffington Post and notable male feminist has claimed Sen. Ted Cruz ‘s awkward effort to hug and kiss his uninterested daughter isn’t simply an odd campaign moment, but actually an example of “rape culture.”

Cruz suffered some embarrassment Sunday when video surfaced of him attempting to hug and kiss his 7-year-old daughter Caroline while out on the Iowa campaign trail. Caroline was not terribly interested, creating a strange scene.

I've always hated using "they" "them" and "their" as singular. If this is a just long term plan to get me to accept using those as singular . . . well, it may actually work.

I think it's less cumbersome than "him or her". People already use "they" as a gender neutral singular pronoun like half the time, so at the next national grammar conference I'm going to push for the official adoption of "they" as the English gender neutral singular pronoun.

Well blackface does not have the same cultural impact to me as, say, the N word. The N word is clearly brutally racist, but changing your skin colour (to play dress up, for halloween, for a costume party, whatever) is not immediately offensive to me. I just don't have the cultural background to blackface, and blackface alone as overtly racist. I mean, I understand where blackface comes from, and it was done for abhorrent reasons, but today I don't *automatically* tie it to the racist minstrel'ly stuff.

So I guess changing the colour of your skin doesn't automatically set me off. It depends on why you did it and what you're doing with it that matters. If someone paints their face green, they're the hulk, or an alien or whatever, but colouring your skin black because your favourite superhero is the Falcon is repugnantly racist? I just don't see it that way.

I realize my views may not be the common viewpoint.

Of course of these two clowns came out and claimed that yeah, it was intentional and they were just trying to get a rise out of everyone, then sure, pillory them.
