Exactly! They hammered him for 2 hours trying to convince everyone how terrible he is but in closing pledge to support his candidacy if he's selected. Yeah, he must be really terrible then.

Jindal was spouting today that Trump is Obama's fault. Interesting theory. It is ironic that the party of personal responsibility can't even realize that it got too addicted to hate and it is consuming them. Can someone please organize an intervention or something?

Webb is an opportunist screaming here for relevancy. Dude changed his party status to Democratic in 2006 and then punted in 2010 still miffed that Obama didn't get him a role at POTUS. I suspect he is just continuing to follow that SOP. Webb is a big part of why Obama didn't get more done when Dems controlled both House and Senate. One of the only positive things Webb managed to do by getting elected was to destroy the career of Macaca-George Allen.

Was he doing sport then too? Or enjoying Lemon. Wet. Good. at the time? Whatever his interpersonal skills might be, he comes off very strange in public and during off-the-cuff interviews. It's the same with Rubio - he's not fast on his feet. He might very well be more grounded in reality, but his public persona isn't nearly as enticing.

EDIT: I also want to be 100% clear - in no way should Donald Trump be President. I'm just trying to stare into the abyss for a short time and escape before I become the abyss (to poorly paraphrase a classic).

In case it's been missed, McCain's joined in the chorus:

The GOP's 2008 nominee, Arizona Sen. McCain, joined in, raising "many concerns about Mr. Trump's uninformed and indeed dangerous statements on national security issues." That echoes the worries of dozens of leading conservative defense and foreign policy officials.

Looks like his campaign folks have scrubbed the internet, but you can still see his thoughts on a guy that plays sport and some guy talking about his thoughts on a glass of lemonade he was handed at a parade. It's just...awkward.

At one point, stopping to guzzle a glass of lemonade, Romney was asked how it tasted, to which he replied, "Lemon. Wet. Good."

I'm sorry. I like John McCain, or, at least I used to before the whole Palin thing. But it seems a little ridiculous to me that the GOP thinks it can stop the Trump onslaught by having all their prior LOSING presidential nominees come out and attack him. What are they thinking? I mean, aren't we all in agreement that Trump is, in the minds of his supporters, the solution to all the prior GOP presidential failure?

EDIT: Also, for the record, I thought Romney's Trump take-down speech was the best thing Romney ever did. He certainly wasn't that genuine or persuasive at any point when he was actually running for office.

Sometimes, yes, even for politicians, it's about doing the right thing. Would you have preferred that they endorsed him as that craven Christie did?
