Mr. Trump, will you drop out of the race if you're indicted?

After seeing how it worked out for Trump, Palin's dropping some swear words into her comments now.

I look forward to her describing her last sexual encounter at a rally, thus ensuring her candidacy for VP.
Federal law expressly prohibits candidates from directly or indirectly promising “the appointment of any person to any public or private position or employment, for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy.” The penalty for violations could include fines or a year in jail — two years if the violation was willful.
I'm sure this has been happening since the first time someone grabbed a soap box and spoke out against his opponent Ogg from the cave two doors down, but to actually admit that's what's happening is hilariously inept.

Oops
That's sort of an odd law. I don't think there's necessarily anything problematic about a candidate promising (in a legally non-binding way) a particular cabinet position or at least a role in shaping administration policies in a specific area, in exchange for an endorsement. And I could see that being a logical factor in endorsing a candidate, given that once you have that promise you have some reason to believe that their administration's policies would reflect what you view as ideal public policy (since you have a reason to believe that you would be shaping them).

It would make a lot of sense to mandate *disclosure* of promises like that, to be sure. And I suppose that the terms of such employment could be such as to make the offer effectively a bribe (a promise of a $500,000 / year salary as Director of Chillin'). But if Trump (say) promised something like you can be Secretary of Health and Human Services if you endorse me and I win, I wouldn't be super troubled by that.

But of course the law says what it says.

I agree. At the same time, I do suspect that there's a lot of dirt to be had in Trump's files, so to the extent that they unearth that and make it public...I wouldn't be overly upset.

Ugh. So now Trump gets patriot cred for foreign radicals attacking him.

It's like handing him the Reichstag fire, but dumber.

Trump has been endorsed by Russia (you know that Putin only wants what is best for Amerika). :)
Donald Trump has found a fan in Russian state television.

BBC Monitoring reports that Dmitri Kiselyov, a top presenter, devoted time on his TV show to praise Mr Trump and show his support for his bid for president.

Mr Kiselyov called Mr Trump "anti-establishment" and that he could co-operate with Moscow.

"Russian state TV has regularly shown sympathy towards Mr Trump, especially after his apparently complimentary remarks about President Vladimir Putin. But it is only in the last week or so that it has started to unequivocally praise him," BBC Monitoring reports.

Mr Kiselyov "hit out strongly at what he saw as a conspiracy by the US political elite to stymie Mr Trump's White House ambitions" during his show on 13 March.

Well...most Russians don't know or don't care who Trump is. He's been endorsed not by Russia but by a pundit who happens to be so pro-Putin that even Russians don't take him seriously anymore :) This is the guy that called BBC "a garbage dump" and who is blacklisted from entering the EU countries.

By Russia, I meant the Russian state rather than the Russian people. The Russian state, personified by Putin, would love to bury America. If they're rooting for Trump, it's because they expect him to make America anything but great. :)

ive by the sword, die by the sword. In Illinois presidential primaries, Republican voters choose delegates, not candidates. Normally this doesn't matter since they just vote for the delegates pledged to their guy. This year, though, there were some unusual exceptions:
This is big: Trump voters' aversion to candidates w/ foreign-sounding names cost him at least 2 delegates. Example:

I believe it. Clinton had one delegate on the Illinois ballot who is a local Alderman on my shit list. I will not vote for the guy for anything.

Really? I haven't been able to finish a single segment when I click on these links. The humor is too obvious and her bias too clear to make it funny.

Bar Rescue = "reality" TV show
Trump Thing = didn't reinforce Rip's notions

Ergo, they are equivalent.

Drumpf names his top foreign policy advisor.
Drumpf was also asked on Wednesday morning if his foreign policy was “neoisolationist,” to which he responded “I wouldn’t say that at all.”
Because he can't pronounce it?

Hearing the phrase "I have a good brain and I've said a lot of things" said by a presidential candidate is just amazing.

His entire campaign has been based around the phrase, "Don't you worry about it, I'll handle it". That's one of the biggest reasons I find his popularity so discouraging. People are blindly following the personality...well, at least to a far greater extent than they usually do.

Apparently, there's an ad out there that shows Trump uttering some of his more misogynist statements. Yesterday morning, he told ABC News that he saw the ad and railed against Romney, who he said was behind it. Not two minutes later, he was telling The Today Show that he hasn't seen the ad and could not comment on it.

The lying sack of shit can't even keep his lies straight for two minutes!
