Regardless of 'proper tools' or not, the procedure was a success. I have successfully hung the mini-blinds. This is not a trivial achievement; the last time I hung blinds (more than a decade ago), they fell off the first time I tried to open them. These have been both opened AND closed, and still remain hanging.
Thus ends this year's encounter with heavy construction work.

Forget Red bull and Monster. The military runs on Rip Its:
Priced at roughly $1 a can in discount retail outlets, Rip It uses 25g of sugar to shuttle roughly 100 mg of caffeine and caffeine-infused Guarana Seed Extract into the bloodstream for a cheap, easy fix.
...
In 2004, the company reached an agreement with defense contractors to offer the cans downrange in Iraq and Afghanistan following the war on terror outbreak. Though the terms of the deal are unknown — National Beverage did not respond to multiple requests for comment — the arrangement made the brand easily accessible to soldiers seeking a boost for long hours on duty, or when drowsiness might prove fatal.
...
Some sergeants might limit the number of cans per soldier to just two a day, although it wouldn’t be uncommon for someone to ingest five or six over the course of a shift. Those with an extreme tolerance might down as many as 18, creating the kind of hyper-vigilance found in cartoons. One soldier told National Public Radio that it was Rip Its and tobacco that kept him up late into the night while on patrol. “Patriotism,” the company ad slogan reads. “…If only we could bottle it!”

The most caffeine I can tolerate is about 75mg and then only if I take an hour to drink it. My heart messes up if I get too much. Out on a job at 18 I took 2 of those little white caffeine tablets and my heart started doing flip flops and I got super sick at my stomach. I wasn't able to work that day and had to go home.

Our work phones switched to VOIP last year. If you dial 9-1 and wait, it finishes the last 1 completes the call. What could go wrong when you have to dial 9-1 to call long distance?Blackhawk wrote:Since I can't raise my left arm above my shoulder anymore, I needed height. Just to be safe, I think I'll pre-dial 911, then set my phone on the floor so that I land on the 'dial' portion of the screen when I fall.

Starbucks lawsuit
A new federal lawsuit against Starbucks claims the company is deceiving its customers when it comes to their iced beverages.
Chicago resident Stacy Pincus filed the proposed class action suit on Wednesday in Illinois, according to court documents.
The suit alleges the brand "unlawfully underfills iced coffee, iced tea, and iced-blended specialty drinks crafted by Starbucks employees." The lawsuit alleges the drinks are underfilled "compared to how they are advertised, misleading and injuring consumers in the process.”
The lawsuit claims a Starbucks customer ordering a "cold drink" receives "much less than advertised, often nearly half as many fluid ounces."
...
Steven A. Hart, an attorney for Pincus, told ABC News that his client simply wants Starbucks to “stop this practice” and to “stop deceiving their customers."
The lawsuit is asking the mega-coffee chain to pay upwards of $5 million to customers who have purchased an iced beverage in the last 10 years.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

As much as I'm not a fan of a full glass of ice, I have no issues asking for less when I want it. Although, I don't drink iced coffee drinks.
If the lawsuit gets traction, we'll end up an iceless wasteland like Europe.

I don't do Starbucks, but I have bought drinks there for the wife or daughters. But one of my guilty pleasures is the occasional 32oz coke and I would guess if you don't say something or have control of the mix you will get 14-16oz of ice with that drink in most places. Now I don't mind that because I will take 2 hours to drink that and then I will work on the ice.

I always order my pop with no ice. 8 fl oz of ice and 8 fl oz of Coke is no way to make me happy when I driving along but that's the way it's always been done.
I also find that most place don't show you the food you are getting vs the food you ordered. If I sued every time a advert show me something different than I got, I'd spend all my time in court, and I don't even out that often.

Re: Random randomness
Putting extra ice it that "coffee" is probably the best thing Starbucks could do for their customers. They're essentially caffeinated sugar beverages.
