I see lots of Hillary, and if you wander the site you will see Reagan of course, but OMG it's like a game of where's Waldo. Can you find Trump on the official RNC website?

Edit: fwiw, I just found if you use the search function you can find some press releases about Trump. But they are completely buried on the site, heh.

They REALLY are twisting in the wind with Trump, aren't they?

It's like the entire party is on high alert. They know he's going to say something stupid or hateful again, but they're hedging their bets by tentatively supporting him...while still looking for a back door in case he starts advocating slavery, or telling us that he has a giant dick and that's why he's going to make ISIS go away.

msd - did you ever address the fact that Clinton doesn't actually want to repeal the 2nd Amendment, as you claimed?

If Trump has the nomination taken away from him, all hell will break loose, and rightfully so. You (Republicans) knew what he was for the past year and picked him anyway. Now you're stuck with him, and rightfully so.

I don't know about repeal but she certainly wants to change the current definition.
Hillary Clinton believes a 2008 Supreme Court ruling that is the linchpin of an individual's right to own a gun was "wrongly decided," her policy adviser told Bloomberg Politics on Friday.

"Clinton believes Heller was wrongly decided in that cities and states should have the power to craft common sense laws to keep their residents safe, like safe storage laws to prevent toddlers from accessing guns," Maya Harris, a policy adviser to Clinton, said in an e-mailed statement. "In overturning Washington D.C.'s safe storage law, Clinton worries that Heller may open the door to overturning thoughtful, common sense safety measures in the future."

The stance by Clinton, the all-but-certain Democratic presidential nominee, carries potentially profound implications for the future of gun rights in the U.S.

In striking down a longstanding handgun ban in the District of Columbia, the D.C. v. Heller ruling marked the first time the Supreme Court held that the Second Amendment protected an individual's right to own a firearm for lawful purposes such as self-defense in the home.

In other words, no, you guys can't prove the wrongful claim that Clinton is trying to repeal the 2nd amendment.

Thank you for admitting it, at least.

So she wants to return to the 2nd Amendment rights you had in 2007. She thinks that DCvHeller was wrongly decided. That's not the same as what MSD claimed.

Reversing DC vs. Heller would require federal legislation. And we know there will be no traction in the House until 2021 at the earliest, which means re-election for the president and a flip of the House.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

You know who you should back as your president, folks? Someone that your own party says is obviously unaware of the issues.

I'm fascinated by the internal twisting going on in the GOP in order to justify backing someone they obviously don't want and that they know is going to be a disaster. And it's not even a case of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, it's Bonzo Goes to Washington.

Bullshit.

It starts in 1973, when the United States Department of Justice went to court with a discrimination complaint against the Trump family business, which rented apartments across Brooklyn and Queens. Coming from the administration of Richard Nixon, who was hardly a civil rights agitator, the complaint was based on an investigation that found four different Trump employees confirming that applicants for leases were screened by race. One rental agent said Trump’s father had told him not to rent to blacks and that he actually wanted to reduce the number of African Americans in his buildings. Three doormen said they had been instructed to deflect blacks who came to Trump buildings to apply for apartments.

Though just 26 years old at the time, Donald Trump was already president of the Trump Organization. Rather than work with the government to bring the company into compliance with the law, as the New York apartment king Sam LeFrak had done, Trump retained one of the most notorious lawyers in the country, Roy Cohn, and commence an all-out legal war. Cohn, who had been Joe McCarthy’s chief inquisitor during the senator’s witch hunt for communists in the government, filed a $410 million lawsuit against the federal government and smeared the justice department attorneys with terms such as “storm troopers” and “Gestapo.” Trump complained in the press of “reverse discrimination” and alleged a “nationwide drive” to force landlords to “rent to welfare recipients.”.........

Next in the Trump record on race came a 1991 book by John O’Donnell, who had been president of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. O’Donnell quoted Trump saying,“ Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys wearing yarmulkes… Those are the only kind of people I want counting my money. Nobody else…Besides that, I tell you something else. I think that’s guy’s lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks.”

O’Donnell’s report was shocking, but Trump did not contest it at the time. In 1997 he was interviewed for Playboy by author Mark Bowden and he confirmed that the O’Donnell book was “probably true.”
Wait. That article can't be true. It was from that liberal pinko rag, Fortune Magazine.

I didn't know any of those things about Trump that Fortune piece mentioned. I could classify Donald Trump as racist simply on the things that have come out of his mouth this election campaign. Also, misogynist if we want to throw another appropriate -ist in there.

I'm not super liberal. I've voted Republican in the past. This is not me trying to "win" the election for the left at all costs. I just know if I, personally, had said half of the things that Trump said, my friends and family would be disturbed.

Honestly, the Republicans trying to walk back this racism is like that guy who claims he's not racist because he's got a black friend. Just own it, for pete's sake.

"...and he was never once accused of being racist by anyone until he decided to run against the Democrats."
A better translation would be "His racism was never treated as a big deal until he decided to run for President of the United States."

Unless you think we should have a Racism Police going after everyone all the time, it makes perfect sense that Trump's racism wouldn't have become a matter of wide public concern until his current campaign.
Much prefer my Nazis Nuremberged.
