As president, he said, he’d work on things including: “freeing up your religion, freeing up your thoughts. You talk about religious liberty and religious freedom, you don’t have any religious freedom if you think about it,” he told the group, which broke in many times with applause.
This is my favourite part. "You know, as Christian conservatives, you don't think about your religious freedom enough. And now that I've mentioned it, you'll realized that you don't have any religious freedom at all".
It's almost like he's speaking pidgin. The words KIND Of make sense, but the way he uses them sounds really...weird.
"Good at China" "Good at the military"
(Is he a five year old? What grown man talks like that?)
"Sorry, losers and haters, but my IQ is one of the highest, and you all know it!"
(We do? How? In the world? The room when you're alone?)
"You know, the funny thing, I don't get along with rich people. I get along with the middle class and the poor people better than I get along with the rich people."
Just weird phrasing, again...and I have no doubt that "the rich people" hate him. I'm beginning to see a pattern - maybe he has an article problem? You can't just put "the" in front of everything, man!
"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending the best. They're not sending you, they're sending people that have lots of problems and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists...and some, I assume, are good people."
Not sure this one is more about weird phrasing, or just the idea that a country is "sending" people like in the Crusades. WTF.
"The beauty of me is that I'm very rich."
Again, he twists words in weird ways to somehow always be about him. Have you ever heard someone say "the beauty of me"?
To be fair, he IS 70, so I will give him a little more rope than Palin, because it's not uncommon to hear older people say things like "The Twitter", etc...but this is different...this is someone boasting so hard that it trips him up, because English isn't capable of conveying his hubris sufficiently I guess. He's speaking Hubrish.
Jesus Fuckin' Trump wrote:“I think maybe that will be my greatest contribution to Christianity — and other religions, is to allow you, when you talk religious liberty, to go and speak openly and if you like somebody or want somebody to represent you, you should have the right to do it,” Trump said. A ban was put in place by Lyndon Johnson on tax-exempt groups making explicit political endorsements. Religious leaders in America today, Trump said, “are petrified.”
Has any minister ever been prosecuted or church lost tax-exempt status for sermonizing about politics? I grew up going to church three times a week, and there was never the slightest confusion about how the minister or other church officials expected us to feel about any political issue. I'm sure the same holds true today.
Not to mention that every other political talk-radio show is explicitly associated with its particular Christian flavor. They don't sound "petrified" or silenced at all.

Don't worry. They never come up into the hills.
I spent 90% of the money I made on women, booze, and drugs. The other 10% I just pissed away.

Sunday mornings I run the board for several church shows at the radio station I work at. 4 of the 5 shows every Sunday deal with politics. Some of the shows are so bad that I've thought about complaining in the past, but they pay for their time and we need the money.
I don't know but came here to see what you all were writing.
I'm very happy that the media is showing this person's consistent problems with money. Slowly, slowly the worshippers are snapping out of it... slowly.

I would suspect that that effect would be magnified for Trump, given that his whole schtick is that he's a natural winner who will use his winning to help the American (mainly white) people win again.

Abandon him for who? They sure won't be voting for Clinton. Stay home?
Those who want to get on the winning bandwagon will go to Clinton. The deserters will stay home or vote Libertarian.
It looks like Trump's baked-in support is in the vicinity of 40%. I doubt that he's going to rise much above that. He will carry the hopelessly red states and nothing else.

It's interesting to watch google and facebook become tools of the left, and the putsch is on. The left truly will stop at nothing to keep Trump out of office. People that are always on the public dime never have trouble with money. If Trump does, it just makes him more a man of the people(sort of lol).

Not good enough. I need to hear how the Gay Atheist Mexican Muslim Brotherhood is orchestrating this.

Tea Party firebrand Michele Bachmann is joining Donald Trump’s Evangelical Executive Advisory Board, his campaign announced Tuesday.
The board will “provide advisory support to Mr. Trump on those issues important to Evangelicals and other people of the faith in America,” the campaign said in a statement.

The other MAJOR problem Trump has is that he doesn't have the full force of the establishment behind him. Hillary can call on virtually any Democrat to assist her campaign - either through support, or attacks against Trump.
Trump has......Trump. When your own party leaders have trouble publicly backing you, you're in a bad situation from a campaign perspective.
An article on CNN today said that Clinton already has permanent campaign directors in all 50 states. Trump is struggling to even stand up enough for a competent Congressional campaign.
The only thing at this point keeping this from being a total blowout is the fact that nobody likes Hillary. Even then, I think this is going to be an incredibly lopsided race.

FWIW it looks like the Utah results are being fueled by the Libertarian ticket (since I believe polls limited to Trump & Clinton give Trump a relatively safe lead) combined with an intense dislike of Trump in Utah. So if Johnson / Weld drop-out or fade over time, Utah *should* become a safe state for Trump. BUT if they don't, Utah could be in play, and Trump has indicated that he'll do some campaigning in Utah, which is not an ideal allocation of resources for a GOP nominee.
That poll isn't exactly shocking. The GOP primary here was 70% Cruz, 17% Kaisch, and 14% Trump. Your rank & file Republican here really dislikes Trump

Please, no.

Yeah I know it's been discussed at length but his anti Muslim and anti immigration stances are hugely unpopular with Mormons. He'll carry Utah, but he'll waste resources having to do so. That would be like Hillary having to waste resources to carry Massachusetts.

OK, I did a search for the guy's name and the word assassination. Nothing came up.

Yeah, I think I was on my phone at the time. I hate posting from my phone so details are always scarce. I think the lack of media interest is because it wasn't much of an attempt. It barely registers as a disturbance at one of Trump's rallies, and someone being escorted out by police is a semi-regular event.
Shrug. As the article said, if Trump wanted to make it a big media deal, he'd just say something outrageous about it, but he hasn't.

That's probably a good idea, assuming she can speak "church". He keeps saying things like "I'm good at Christianity! I'm the best fuckin' Christian you losers have ever seen!", so having someone to...manage that kind of speak could help (if he listens). Now he needs an advisory board for:
The military
The China
The jobs
The Twitter
I was searching in this thread to see if the topic was already brought up.

The funny part is that many on the right will actually settle on doing absolutely nothing for Trump. I mean, it's not like his declining supporters are not trying to use social media as a tool, they are just few in number and are more unhinged vis-à-vis the Oregon Standoff types. My wife's parents are strong conservatives who hate Clinton with the fury of a thousand suns, yet this week they both told me they are either staying home or going Libertarian. They even admitted that Clinton would probably be better than Trump, which considering their absolute hatred for the lady is saying something.

Granted, it wasn't a very well thought out plan for someone who said he was planning it for a year.

This was clearly an assassination attempt, insofar as he tried to grab a gun with the specific intent to kill Trump. Just like, as the article says, a guy got charged with attempting to assassinate Obama when he fired shots from 750 yards away from the White House, even though Obama was in San Diego at the time.
It doesn't really matter how close the guy comes, it matters that he did actual things with the specific intent of killing his target person.
