So much better to have some new experiences in this time and place to remember later on!

One of my engineers decided to trust our vendor and do some testing in our prod environment today. Made a change that sent out new enrollment emails to about a thousand of our users before I spotted the problem and shut down our SMTP link. The environment continues to generate THOUSANDS of enrollment emails and our vendor has no clue how it's happening. And I'm the direct target of the wrath of my team lead because I'm the only engineer that's local.

Drag sometimes bc I would have chimed in here an there if I was up to date.
Awesome bc the binge effect is similar to flipping through TV stations with a remote being controlled by someone else.

Cracked windshield means jackpot in MA -- literally. Glass insurance with no deductible is mandatory as a safety regulation, so glass companies used to pay a bonus if you would call them to come to your home or place of employment and let them replace your windscreen. The payout was typically $50 but could go to $100 when the companies had a bidding war.

The legislature figured out the scam and banned bounty payments. So now the glass companies enter you in a daily drawing to win $50. The number of prizes exceeds the number of entries on most days. If you have a cracked windshield, you're gonna win $50.

Our deductible on glass is $250. After I settle that, I'll be talking to my agent about better glass coverage.

Typical liberal wealth redistribution with a little vig for the house. So what is keeping them from making them give out free tires as well? You know for safety and all.

I just posted a pic on my FB page, pointing out that more people were killed by toddlers than terrorists (statistically true) and in the space of minutes, I had a Canadian ok the killings as long as they were Dems, and an American condone it as long a the slain were GOP.

Jeeze Louise, what the fuck? I just thought it was funny.

Thank God for $17 Freon can refills. My car ac died weeks ago and I finally couldn't take melting any longer. At first I thought it wasn't going to help then gave up and just kept filling. Presto it was low after all and is in the middle of the perfect setting now and cold as ice. Thank God. No more death car.

Lobbying clout, I imagine. The glass provision is decades old and safely enshrined. IDK how it got there in the first place.

I should have mentioned, though, that you forfeit your "entry into the drawing" if you have the glass company come to you. You have to take your car into their facility to claim your "prize." So it just ends up being free glass replacement for most of us.

Much as I love the music of the 60s there was still a lot of crap in there too.
It's the same way with all the different decades of music. We tend to just remember the stuff we liked.

I used to type ditto masters. It was an unforgiving process. I liked the smell, though, and the process of literally cranking out copies.
