I finished the first two Borderlands but got nowhere close with the Pre Sequel. I just couldn't find people online at the time.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get FF to work on Windows 10 or 7 (I skipped 8, but I understand the problem is common there, too.)

The GOG version worked flawlessly for me under Windows 7 (and I've read that it also runs under Win 10). Dunno why the Steam version causes so many problems in comparison.Blackhawk wrote:Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get FF to work on Windows 10 or 7 (I skipped 8, but I understand the problem is common there, too.)

Here's what I could find on it and seemed to get the most "worked for me" responses over the other "fixes"
It works great for me in vista and in windows 7
To fix the fist icon bug do the following:
All you have to do, is find the FF.exe file in the game folder and
right click it, go to properties, compatibility tab,
1. check the box that says
"run in compatability mode" , in the pull down menu select "Win98/ME"
2. check to box to disable visual desktop
3. check to box to disable desktop composition
4. click the OK button
5. Now right click on the STEAM shortcut on your desktop that launches STEAM (not the game shortcut.
6. right click it, go to properties, compatibility tab.
7. check the box that says
"run in compatability mode" , in the pull down menu select "XP service pack 3".
8. click the OK button
step 9.
*IMPORTANT*. EXIT steam, make sure you right click close steam thats is still running on your system tray or the changes won't take affect.
Now when you launch steam it will be in xp compatibilty mode, which will allow you to launch freedom force in win 98/ME mode to play the game without the fist bug on newer video cards / newer OSes.

Man, I loved Space Quest IV.
I'd love to play all these games, but nostalgia aside, I don't see how anyone who remembers these games could have enough time to play all of them again.

I'm tempted just for Phantasmagoria alone. I absolutely loved that game. Would be entertaining to see how (poorly, I assume) it holds up today.

Just watch The Spoony Experiment's Let's Play of Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh; it's one the more amusing and classic Let's Play video series, and a whole lot more entertaining that the game itself.YellowKing wrote:I'm tempted just for Phantasmagoria alone. It's pretty rare that I can get a Humble Bundle where I don't own a single one of the offerings on STEAM already. I feel like this means I must get in on the Sierra Bundle.

I think most of the games were just released (on Steam, anyway) so that's probably why you don't have any already.

I read their page to mean that if you bought it for free in the next 48 hours it was yours to keep, as long as you activated the key within seven days. Is that what you meant?Isgrimnur wrote:48 hours of free Tropico 4.

Huh. Never played any of the Tropicos. I'm not much of a fan of South American politics (this is sim city with dictators, yes?).Isgrimnur wrote:48 hours of free Tropico 4.

Re: Humble Bundles
It's really much more of a management game than SimCity. You have to continuously balance the demands of politics, food, work, education and religion while meantime filling up your Swiss bank account . There's always some to do, people to watch (or make disappear), new buildings to build and edicts to announce. And frankly I think Tropico 4 was a better game than 5.GreenGoo wrote:Huh. Re: Humble Bundles
FYI: Humble Store's summer sale has started. (Wish I knew it was scheduled for now before I used the 10% off coupon last week, but the things I bought are the same price, and there's only one or two small games I'm considering getting, so not much of an issue.

I just wanted to say that. Especially since you don't have to be particularly old to have bought Tropico 1 when it was new. Actually I'd expect most people to debate whether 3 or 4 was best.

Re: Humble Bundles
I believe the coupons on Humble are attached to the account (it's not a code), so in order to get the 10% off for a new Monthly subscription, you would need to get one of the (non-monthly) bundles that offered that coupon. I believe it works outstimpy wrote:Anyone have a spare discount code for the Monthly Bundle?

As long as you're not interested in the Sierra game, that sounds like a good idea.stimpy wrote:Wasn't sure about that. Thanks.
Keep in mind, you only need to spend $1 to get the coupon (eg, from the Description: "Pay $1 or more to unlock Steam and GameMaker keys, and receive a coupon for 10% off Humble Monthly for new subscribers."). Though it only deducts 10% off (which would make it 1.20 you save), so the benefit is more for the games you would gain than a real discount.

Tropico 2 (I think. The pirate one.) had the best music. It's the only game ever where I leave soundtrack on well after I've been playing for a long time.jztemple2 wrote:Well, the game play was a bit iffy, but it did have the best musicJetFred wrote:Old guys rule. Tropico 1 was the best.
