The man who discovered CTE thinks Hillary Clinton may have been poisoned
I'm highly skeptical, especially considering she has secret service protection.Omalu, whose story was famously told in the movie “Concussion,” made the suggestion on Twitter, writing that he advised campaign officials to “perform toxicologic analysis of Ms. Clinton’s blood.”

Yeah, I really doubt it. Everything else aside, what are the odds that a Putin agent was able to get sufficient access to poison Hillary, but not enough to seriously injure / kill her?
I imagine if the Clinton camp had any evidence of that that they would come forward with it, in any event.

I would also imagine that any sudden onset of illness gets blood work - including toxicology - as standard procedure.

Hillary really missed her chance to say she was overcome by emotion during the 9-11 ceremony, and that was the reason for her swoon. It takes a willing suspension of disbelief for me to even type that.Defiant wrote:The inside story of Clinton’s sick day

Re: The Hillary Clinton thread
I gotta say, I agree with much of what Powell says about her in his hacked emails. My favorite quote that I think sums up her problems:
He then goes on to call out Trump for his racist birther movement, and labels him "a national disgrace" and an "international pariah"."Everything HRC touches she kind of screws up with hubris."

Re: The Hillary Clinton thread
Some of what she does is hubris, no question, but I think most of what she screws up is simply trying to control every. little. thing. I can't really blame her, since I'd be carefully considering everything I did and said if I had had a pack of hyenas trying to eat me for other 20 years.
Still, trying control everything comes across as shady and insincere. That is Hillary's biggest problem from an optics standpoint. Her biggest problem when it comes to actually executing the role of president is probably being too good at it.
I say that facetiously but honestly she would make a great president as far as actually doing the job.

Re: The Hillary Clinton thread
I don't think it's hubris, so much as an inherent inclination for concealment, driven by years of being attacked for anything and everything. Though in areas where she has prepared for it (eg, her Tax Returns) she is willing to be open.
That and she lacks the type of charisma that most successful politicians have.

Re: The Hillary Clinton thread
I'm inclined to think that her biggest problem from an optics standpoint is the widespread view in the media that everything that she does is shady. So that even when an investigation into something that she did turns up essentially nothing, it inevitably gets reported from a "raises questions" angle.GreenGoo wrote:Some of what she does is hubris, no question, but I think most of what she screws up is simply trying to control every. little. thing. Re: The Hillary Clinton thread
Do you guys listen to Keepin' it 1600 - a podcast on The Ringer network? It's run by former speechwriters from the Obama administration who were there with him through both elections and gives some interesting insights into campaigning. I haven't heard it yet, but the latest one addressed Clinton's last week.

Yes, it's really great and the only political podcast I listen to. Of course, it's run by partisan Democrats, so everything discussed from that perspective, but the hosts are incredibly knowledgeable, insightful, and charming.stessier wrote:Do you guys listen to Keepin' it 1600 - a podcast on The Ringer network? It has two episodes a week, and the one that comes out on Thursday is my favorite because it's the one that includes Dan Pfieffer, a former senior Obama advisor who's really informed and insightful.tjg_marantz wrote:Just listened to the latest episode. She refuses to drink water? WTF???Defiant wrote:The inside story of Clinton’s sick day
No wonder. The real issue is chronic dehydration, exacerbated by her lung problem and Clinton’s reluctance to drink water, which has become a source of tension with her staff.
“She won’t drink water, and you try telling Hillary Clinton she has to drink water,” said a person in her orbit – who described a frenzied rehydration mission that included multiple bottles of water and Gatorade.

Hopefully. I have an athlete friend like this and she also sweats like crazy when playing in games so you can literally see her performance decline significantly as the game goes on. We all taunt her to drink more. Some people just are adverse to it for some strange ass reason.

Which is not to say don't drink water. It's very clear that drinking water is a must, however *when* we need to drink water is the conversation.

The real story here is that Colin Powell sees the New York Post as a credible source of information.Moliere wrote:Colin Powell: Hillary is hampered by a husband that is still "dicking bimbos at home"
