That was a completely badass throw and catch at the end there. On the road, at the end of the game, the game on the line, and it's the playoffs. And the kicker! Two hugely clutch high pressure kicks!

I wonder if there's ever been a playoff game with three 50+ yard FGs to tie or take the lead in the last two minutes of the game?

I don't think so, and there were four even if one didn't count. :)

Like, I understand that Tom Brady is just fucking absurd. I get it. I get that he's an instant HOFer and that many believe he is the best to ever play the game (with substantial reason).

But there are just things that Aaron Rodgers can do that I've never seen any other QB be able to do. When he's "on" he is just absolutely incredible.

The Cowboys lose. I can breath a sigh of relief not having to listen to Cowboys fans win the Super Bowl.

Dang, was pulling for the Chiefs. With the remaining teams, I honestly could not care less who wins.

I do get to watch the SB on a cruise ship again this year, so at least that'll be fun.

I could not be more opposite than you I guess. Both Championship games have the potential to be epic, and there are three teams that I can root for going forward (F NE).

A few years back (Packers/Steelers) we departed on a 7-day cruise on Super Bowl Sunday and I challenged myself to go the whole cruise without knowing who won. I was successful (lots of preemptive conversations with randoms, letting them know of my experiment) right up until we got back to the port of Miami and I had it spoiled in the subject line of an email.

My second favorite team lost. :x At least me second most hated team lost, too, so that's some consolation. Hopefully my second-favorite team can pull it out this week; if so, I truly won't give a rats ass who wins the SB.

They have a big watch party on the 70k heavy metal cruise, which is hilarious. There's a few actual fans, then a ton of drunken metalheads (often from outside the US) who know nothing about football and just want an excuse to scream and yell and drink even more. Last year, we spent the entire game explaining the rules to a big group from Finland and Norway. It was a blast.

I think the division games will be great, I just couldn't have picked 4 teams that I am more completely ambivalent about. I simply don't like or dislike any of them at all. I guess I'll probably root for the Pats, since they are the team with a Utah alum on the roster (Eric Rowe).

They may not have been but it seems that we are going to get the two best teams from the AFC and NFC in the Super Bowl (though after today's Atlanta/GB game I would have liked to see Dallas vs Atlanta).

On the one hand, Brady has never played in a Super Bowl where the final score difference was greater than 4 points. On the other hand, holy cow did Atlanta look good these last 2 games!

Atlanta has certainly looked good, but I think they have capitalized mostly on the other team's mistakes. I think NE pulls this out.

Well, the good news is that the Patriots are playing, not those Cheatriots assholes.

But seriously, it's not at all clear that the Patriots will win this. The Falcons have the #1 scoring offense, and while the Patriots have the #1 scoring defense, they played a really shitty slate of quarterbacks this year (thanks, AFC East). So, the Falcons could score a ton in this.

Fixed that for you. The Patriots haven't played a good QB in the AFC East since 2001 and Vinny Testaverde, the best QB fielded by the Jets, Bills, or Dolphins since that time was Ryan Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick (and Chad Pennington) is so good that after he was cut, another AFC East team picked him up.

That is also true. Belichick and Brady are both great, but obviously the Patriots dynasty has benefited enormously from the division being pretty shitty for most of that time.

I'm sorry, but this is just the stupidest line of reasoning I've seen and it keeps getting repeated over and over (ire directed at argument and not poster). Exactly how have they benefited? I believe they have swept the division exactly twice in 16 years. Those aren't easy games and they don't always win them.

And which team is playing all of these killer quarterbacks in their division and getting cheated out of riches? The Steelers go up against the Browns and Bengals every year. Indy - don't even get me started. Denver has had Oakland and KC for the same amount of time. Then we turn to the NFC - the Packers have the powerhouse Lions, Packers, and Bears. The Saints had TB, and the Panthers. Seattle had horrible SF teams most of the time and then the perpetual 7-9 Rams. The East always seems to be competitive, but Eli's only consistent challenge has been Romo.

It's just lazy reasoning by sour haters. I love it, btw. Tears of the fallen and all that jazz.

Take a few minutes and read the oral history of the Snow Game if you need to really let the hate flow through you.
