A while back one of our posters was discussing how they didn't believe that Trump supporters could really be that blind and gullible as to believe some point or other that Trump was pushing.

Someone posted this on a relative's Facebook page: Illegal Immigrants Training for the Trump Wall.

After a page of "Wow!" responses, someone responded, "This is how your views get twisted. This is actually just the firefighter games!"

My immediate reaction: Yeah, that's kind of the joke. Nobody was taking it seriously.

My relatives responses?

"Oh, ok. At least it's good to know the truth."

OTOH, Geert "The Dutch Donald" Wilders' Party for Freedom is projected to win the largest plurality of seats in the March general election, although for now it seems unlikely that he can pick up enough additional support from other parties to form the government.

He also wants to liberate the Netherlands from the EU. #NEXIT

Perhaps after observing Trump's America for a couple of months, more people in Europe will come to their senses (it's really the only silver lining in this whole shitstorm).

I've been through this with my mother-in-law. Basically it comes down to "He just found God recently."

In fact, a lot of Trump's rise has been founded on "he was bad then, but he's going to be different now." Despite all evidence to the contrary. As another cantankerous asshole (House, MD) once said, "People don't change."
