Nice deal. I can't afford 30 right now, but if anyone gets in and doesn't want Subnautica, I'd toss them five bucks toward the bundle for the code. My oldest son would love to play it.

I am kinda tempted by the Freedom Bundle even though I already have like 5-6 of the games in the list.

Too bad they are not a 501c3...could write these off.
Also only interested in The Witness and SV (because I already own the many other gems in this one).

"Subnautica" and "Monster loves you" have sold out and been dropped from the bundle (for new customers) ... ... and "Super Meat Boy" is out of STEAM keys (but avail. DRM free)

Re: Humble Bundles
Ordered new PC, need new game to really push it.
Since they had Civ bundle and I've never played anything other than Civ 1/CivNet, got the $1 bundle for Civ3/4, and 10% off sub fee (in essence, getting paid $.20 to take Civ3/4). Guess that probably makes me an incredibly cheap dweeb being this is for a charity site, but I decided I'm OK with that (lets be honest, the only reason I purchased from them was because of the good price - that charity benefits in some way is simply an added bonus).
Question - I am not going to stay subscribed for next month (if it's something really good like TW:WH was, I might re-sub, but not staying sub'd and just hoping for the best). Do I just cancel right away or do I need to wait for a specific date to get the other games on March 1st (3rd? whenever it is I get them)?

Re: Humble Bundles
You get them on the first Friday of the new month. That day they will announce the "pay early" game for the next bundle.
I've paid early every time, so I've lost track of what happens if you don't. If you bought this bundle for the early release of Total War: Warhammer, then I assume you could cancel when you see what the next pay early game is, if you don't want it. The whole point of the thing is that once the full bundle is revealed, it's too late to buy it if you didn't already, but with a subscription, I don't think you will get charged again until right before the next bundle comes out. But don't treat that answer as reliable. Like I said, I subscribed for the first one and then they started doing pay early, so at some point I paid for two at the same time and now pay early every time.

My first purchase was last month (for XCOM2) and I went with the month-to-month subscription. I just checked and it appears I will be charged again Friday (2/24), at which point I own the Warhammer game and would then be waiting for info on what's next. I guess I could pay it early (I saw the option) but I was honestly considering cancelling it as I'm already overloaded with games. But man, $12 is bananas.
Maybe next year, maybe no go

Sometimes my brain works and thinks to look for slightly obvious things, like will they tell me when I will be billed again. 3/31. OK, plenty of time to cancel once I see the new reveal...Smoove_B wrote:My first purchase was last month (for XCOM2) and I went with the month-to-month subscription. You're right - I didn't pick up on that, but it's in the FAQ:Jag wrote:When I signed up for it, it said you need to cancel a week before you are rebilled, so I would be careful with that.
How do I cancel?
You can cancel your membership at any time, but you’ll need to cancel at least a week before new content unlocks to avoid subscribing and paying for the next month.

I'm sure that there are consumer protection agencies that would love to take issue with them on that. Or perhaps a number of credit card chargebacks, especially if it's not clearly called out in the terms when you agree.

Re: Humble Bundles
I was just wondering why I haven't gotten a email with the next month subscription games listed. I signed up for 3 months at a time, just because I like humble bundle.Smoove_B wrote:My first purchase was last month (for XCOM2) and I went with the month-to-month subscription. When I signed up, they were advertising XCom2 with more to come (I sort of expected an email when they added more. I haven't logged onto my account to actually look).
So from my perspective it has been unreasonably quiet. I expect more from last month and to hear what the new month offers. I haven't heard either, so now I have to go and see for myself? I'm way too lazy for that.
Although "Warhammer" you say? Perhaps I'm not that lazy after all. edit: And it's not Armageddon or some other 2nd tier game, but Total War(hammer)? Holy crap, XCom 2 and Warhammer: Total War for 12 bucks each. That is pretty amazing.
And can someone tell me where I can get Titanfall 2 for 25 bucks? Thanks.

If you subscribe to a mulit-month discount thing (think 3 months is only $11.50/month), could you take this month, pause - unpause when there's a game you want, pause again and unpause when there's another game you want?Z-Corn wrote:They let me put my subscription on pause...
Prepay discounted price and use when the time is right? Too late for me, because this could have been really good w/ the 10% new sub coupon I had, but maybe someone will find this an economically sound plan.

No idea. I tried to cancel and was offered the option to pause my account instead. I am only paying month-to-month though...

Steamworld Heist is awesome. It's kind of like 2D sidescroller Xcom. The thing that kind of turned me off from this game was trying to figure out how the bad guys could apparently shoot me thru floors, yet I couldn't do the same.Lordnine wrote:Steamworld Heist is awesome. Same rules apply to you as enemies. Floors with the red top can be shot through, the rest cannot. Also, you can only shoot through things like barrels and boxes if you are right next them (using them as cover), otherwise the object will take damage until it breaks.

I thought Ryse was one of those little indie gladiator games but it appears (according to the video I watched) that it's Shadow of Mordor set in the Roman Era. Which might be cool. It looked pretty good anyway.
That said, it's 25 gigs, and because it's so big it prevented Total War: Warhammer from downloading (I run my downloads on a schedule that has less impact on my monthly quota), so it'll be another night before I get to check out Total Warhammer.
I will absolutely check out Steamworld Heist, thanks for the recommendation.

Huh....could have sworn an enemy would shoot me from below and I would return fire, only to have it bounce off the floor he just shot me thru.Lordnine wrote:Same rules apply to you as enemies. Re: Humble Bundles
I don't think it's anything like Shadows, primarily because Ryse is purely on rails where Shadows is open world. Shadows is more like the Batman Arkham games with some nice innovation (Nemesis system, etc). Ryse is just a short, nice looking ARPG-lite.GreenGoo wrote:I thought Ryse was one of those little indie gladiator games but it appears (according to the video I watched) that it's Shadow of Mordor set in the Roman Era. Ryse is a much better game than it was given credit for, IMHO. Once you realize what it is (it's not at all like Shadow of Mordor), it's actually fun. It's a one-trick pony, but I enjoyed the short ride. Not something I'd play on harder difficulty levels, but as part of a bundle? I've played worse.

It’s possible you were using an explosive based weapon. Rockets and grenades (and a couple of the special items) behave differently than normal weapons. A good way of learning the system is to keep a weapon with a scope so you can see how projectiles will fire and bounce around the terrain.stimpy wrote:Huh....could have sworn an enemy would shoot me from below and I would return fire, only to have it bounce off the floor he just shot me thru.Lordnine wrote:Same rules apply to you as enemies. The last month bundle games are out -
Total War: Warhammer - the revealed game - it's why I signed up
Space Run: Galaxy - woot, this was on my wishlist! also the only game in the bundle I care about personally. Have to check w/ the kid, but will likely be throwing the rest of tehse
Flat Heroes
Morphblade (this looked remotely entertaining)
One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 (kid likes anime, so this might get used)
Poly Bridge

And there doesn't seem to be download link for it. The download link in the email just takes me to the bundle page where all the games are, but no link or key for Warhammer. Anyone else able to get it?
