At least it's not "Another Windows 10 update, another Windows 10 doesn't work."
That has happened to me at home twice and twice while supporting computers at work. And it's not even like Windows 7 where you can go back to a pre-update version. You just get caught in an endless loop of "Windows encountered an error while trying to start... Windows could not revert to a previous version this operation has been canceled... Windows encountered an error while trying to start.." And then it won't even let you reload Windows over your existing installation. It's clean imagine or nothing.
I'm not bitter.

Jamaica in four weeks. Five days of pina coladas, soaking on the beach and blessed, blessed not thinking about emotional support, guidance for adult children, needy girlfriends or the emotional maelstrom that comes from too close proximity to ex wives.

The J and G letters have reversed pronunciations in the French alphabet. Obviously I'm not arguing that the G can never sound like a J, I'm saying that "gi" is a common letter combination in English and it is normally pronounced as in "gift" or "give".Blackhawk wrote:Or German. Or Georgian.

Re: Random randomness
The girlish gift giver girded himself with a girdle and gills as he gibbered and giggled about his girth in the gildhall. What a git.
His gizzard felt gimped as this whole thing was more like a gimballed gizmo in support of a gimmick rather than a gigaton of evidence.
Or is that measured in gigawatts?
I accept that there are plenty of examples going either way, but I'm uncomfortable changing gift to jif just by dropping the t.

Re: Random randomness
So my wife emergency beeps me and when I go to see what the matter is, her dog laying next to her is hungry according to her and wants something to eat. As a matter of fact all three dogs on her bed want something to eat.
Of course there is plenty of dog food in bowels around the house as well as clean water.
One reason I never go to her bedroom armed when she beeps me.

And who ever heard of a weenie dog that washes it's paws in their water bowl when ever she comes back in from the back yard.

Re: Random randomness
Can you really mispronounce an acronym? I mean, I feel like it's up to the speaker to decide, or just enunciate the letters individually in sequence. Not to mention you don't get to control an evolving language. Pronounce it however the hell you like... this debate is stupid. (I'm not calling you guys stupid for having it, I'm just tired of hearing about it in general.)
For the record I pronounce it with a hard G. I don't consider myself some kind of rebel. Likewise, I wouldn't correct you or argue with you if you pronounced it with a soft G.

I saw a commercial on late night TV. It said, "Forget everything you know about slipcovers." So I did. And it was a load off my mind. Then the commercial tried to sell me slipcovers, and I didn't know what the hell they were. -- Mitch Hedberg

The pronunciation of GIF can lead to a silly argument, or an opportunity to explore etymology. Your choice -- either one can be fun.

One of the small joys of gainful unemployment: sipping a cappuccino, reading the day's news, waiting for the new day to roll over and a shiny new game to unlock, because you don't need to worry about getting up and going anywhere in the morning.

For all my talk about about packing lunches that cost under $2, I just had a burger, poutine fries, and small shake at what was supposed to be the best place around for a burger for $20 and the burger was simply OK and the fries were actually pretty bad.
