Agreed, though I don't really like playing video games with anyone. I've tried playing Skylanders games and Lego Marvel something or other and the plodding pace at which my kids play, messing around and enjoying the environment and such frustrates me. Remus and I used to play a ritual Sunday nighth MP of HoMM3 fairly well but that was because I was doing laundry and he was doing whatever it is he was doing and HoMM3 would repeatedly yell at us in sparkly noises when it was time for us take our turns. Aside from that, I'm not so good. I've been promising chaosraven I'd get in on DST for over a year year now and, well, I suck...

I absolutely despise UPS Mail Innovations and whatever the FedEx equivalent is. Ordering something on Prime and seeing the shipping is through one of them practically guarantees that my package will be late, plus some combination of damaged, misdelivered, or vanished.
I've actually spoken to their support about it, but I'm sure nothing will come of it. Then again, I haven't heard from their last unpopular choice (DHL) in quite a while. Maybe if enough people bitch...

Re: Random randomness
I hate shipping via UPS. Their motto should be "When it absolutely, positively has to get there in pieces sooner or later." UPS is fine for sending large packages B2B but home delivery of small packages is hit or miss.

What I hate when UPS is the carrier only to have them take it to the post office for delivery. UPS is about 3 blocks from me yet they'll take my package 6 miles away to a post office so they can deliver it a day or two later. Hell call me and Ill come pick it up first.

Re: Random randomness
That was the 'UPS Mail Innovation' I mentioned earlier.
The idea is that they save money by saving time. They don't take your package to the post office, they take dozens of packages to the post office. One stop instead of 30, which means less gas and less time on the clock.
It also means that UPS becomes only as reliable as the local post office. Around here, that means 'not very.'

DHL was always ok here. I much preferred Fed-Ex and UPS. The thing I liked FX for was Saturday delivery and an earlier one in the day. UPS always ran last to me so it was like 6pm or later usually.

Well crap. Somebody from Pakistan or Singapore tried to hack my hotmail account. It was odd that I got a message saying just that from Apple and they suggested I reset my account by Clicking HERE.
Being olde I almost fell for it until it dawned on me..........APPLE!!! During the change process MS is the one who said it was from Singapore or Pakistan.
I of course went thru regular channels to reset my password.

Re: Random randomness
Depends on when we get the packages from UPS. Normally, they drop packages off around noon. Packages get sorted out to the routes about three am and FedEx drops their stuff off whenever they want. Sometimes, it's in the afternoon, sometimes it's morning. None of these companies we "partner" with care about making us look good, sooooo...Blackhawk wrote:That was the 'UPS Mail Innovation' I mentioned earlier.

Heh.
'I'm all yours tonight!' she cried, 'Do something to me you'd never normally dare do to a woman!'
'All right' he said, and made eye contact.
'Are you ready to be tortured in a way only a woman can torture a man?' she asked.
He nodded nervously.
'OK' she said and ate half his chips
When he told her he worked in IT support, it really turned her on.
Then it turned her off.

The problem is that I am currently working in IT, and hear that joke on average, once a day. Sometimes from my own peers. What humour it might have contained is long since wrung out of it.Max Peck wrote:Tell me "When he told her he worked in IT support, it really turned her on. Then it turned her off. I will say that once upon a time I would have found "did you try turning it off and on again?" at least mildly funny.
