Childless women with dogs are considered mothers to us. I always get my wife something for Mothers Day even though we only have dogs.

This is the most related post. Given the prevalence of these things, should probably just start a separate thread.
In the meantime - a really interesting article about the guy who stopped the initial infection in it's tracks by finding the kill switch (the worm has since been re-released sans kill switch).
Three different yet cool Stargate rings....I want that first one.

That sinking feeling you get when your assistant walks into your office and says, "Um...shouldn't you be well on your way to the client meeting by now?"
For some reason, I thought it was tomorrow at noon, but it's today. At this point, the best I could do would be to get there an hour late, so I'll just have to apologize profusely and hope they can reschedule for tomorrow.
Ugh.
When darkness veils the world, four Warriors of Light shall come.
1) Why is it online courses are rarely as advertised? My introduction to VMWare course totally skipped, you know setting up hardware and assumes I know abazillion three and four letter abbreviations.
2) When did they stop giving you resources. I have access to my course material for six months and then my access to the 900 page virtual manual disappears.
3) Online instructors could stand to learn a lot from Let's Play videos and should ditch pptx.
Time to go to the pain doctors and get refills....for a better tomorrow.

Try replacing the switchblade with something more practical for EDC, like a classic Buck 110:
...which would never open on you accidentally. Or, for something cheaper, just go with an Ontario RAT II or a KA-BAR Dozier.

Contrary to popular belief Buck knives do break. It's weird because when they do the magnetism will hold the blade halves together.
Yes, it's true. They are not dbt proof.

Sorry, I thought that was a fairly well-known acronymn; EDC = Every Day Carry.

Yeah, we've had this discussion before - I've been carrying a pocket knife since being in the Boy Scouts. Everyone always asks why and invariably a situation soon arises where it's needed. Granted, it's a literal pocket knife with a 2.5" blade, not a switch blade for when the boys and the Dukes are ready to rumble --the word on the street some heads are gonna tumble.

I did this from when I was about 9 or 10 until I threw away my 3rd pocket knife at an airport. I haven't carried one since.
I always have my Leatherman in my pocket, but it's massively useful. It serves to trim my fingernails and file them, cut food I bring for lunch at work, open boxes, cut cables, whittle wood, saw small branches off wood I want to whittle, and serves a few basic screwdriver needs I have in my field of work. I suppose that in a pinch I could hold it like a roll of quarters to enhance a punch, or unfold the small blade and threaten to poke someone with it.

Ive had a pocket knife since I was around 4. Funny enough grandpa gave me that knife and I promptly cut 4 of my fingers right then and there. Scared him. He knew granny would kill him But we hid that little accident.
I could carry my bowie knife It has a 12" blade

I think I got my first pocket knife when I was about six or seven. I've never been without one since then. Right now I carry a Buck quick-open liner lock with a ~3" blade and a pocket clip that I used to replace my old Gerber a year or so ago.
I can't imagine carrying a switchblade as a pocket knife. Too unreliable, and the only advantage (speed) has been rendered largely irrelevant by modern folding knives.
If I got out every bladed weapon I own and piled them on the table, I'd probably need a new table.
