I'm in (or should I say back again, since I did the beta way back when) - Makureri is my character at the moment.

I should add that I'm @Aliasbuck. Sneaky, I know.

So you were the friend request I couldn't figure out. I can't do guild invite so it don't matter much but if you see me on again you can resend. Bad Demographic is on frequently and he can ginvite, but his user account name is not the same, its BDR+ a bunch of numbers.

I'll be looking for a guild invite when possible, though I've only got Redfive and Arkon on my friends list at the moment. I'm @Baroquen131 I believe, and will be on later tonight.

I'll try to get on later, too (playing Vermintide right now). I'll look for you.

It's pretty good. Big place to explore. Once you complete the main quest (presumably around the time you finish with the faction you're in), you can play the other factions. Plus some of the dlc give you more areas to explore.

edit: by f2p, I assume you mean non-subscription.

I saw something in my quests about a main quest. I've never known anything about it. What is it?

Yeah, no sub.
I guess the best bet is starting with the gold edition at this point. The morrowind expansion is only for high level?

I don't know that it's for high level. Most folks here seem to be starting new characters for it.
I have the gold edition and am pretty happy I went with it - if you haven't bought it yet you might wait for the Steam summer sale (assuming there is one).
The gold edition gives you a horse (palomino, if you care) and some dlcs. Of the dlcs, I'm doing the Thieves Guild (quite good) and the Dark Brotherhood (also good) but haven't started the other two or three.

If you start playing, let us know your name (should start with @) so we can invite you into the OO guild (Acolytes of Hermaeus Mora).

I found the gold edition for 37$ canadian so I'm fairly happy with the price, I'm probably going to bit the bullet.
Do I need to pick a specific server or everyone plays on the same one?

Use the NA (North American) server. (maybe it's the default if you're in North America?)

The only real "high level" area anymore is the PvP area. Whatever zone you are in scales to your level. I created a brand new character for Morrowind and I'm about 60% (based on how much of the map I've explored) through at lvl 15.

Oh, I see, like GW2 a bit.
Not my favorite kind of thing, oh well :P

It's one big install though, 87gb, had to clean up space and even then I'll be left with very little space on my SSD think I might have to buy another one if I like the game :\

If you have any difficulties with the game, Vorret, don't do the Steam thing of verifying the integrity of your files - the whole game will redownload.

... and try shutting down different services or apps. It turns out for me that I had a secondary program running that crippled ESO, and it took me downloading the game a couple times to isolate that.

Didn't get it on Steam I got it through another website and downloaded it straight from the ESO website.
The patch that installs is what requires so much space after the whole thing I still have 34gb left on my SSD but at some point I had to completely remove the pagefile since my installed jammed when my drive reached 0 bytes available haha. Quite an odd thing to see.

I barely got a character in game before heading to bed I should have more time tonight to get a feel of that game :)

This is why I built a 1TB RAID0 array out of two 500GB SSD's. I've still got something like 400GB of free space with 200+ games installed. The trend of huge installs continues to increase and amaze me.

First time I've ran into problem with my 120gb SSD, I usually have to swap game from my back up HD but that takes 2-3 minutes top, but 87gb on a 120 with windows installed was quite the challenge :P

And Vorret is in!

Don't let my performance tonight scare you off from a AoE stam sorc..they really do rock and aren't usually the glass cannons that I tried to be tonight..usually much more survivable..now I'm wondering if Coldsteel's concerns about the recent nerf were right :?

No worries at all, I don't play class that are "op" or "fotm" , if I enjoy the gameplay that's the important part :)

Thanks for showing me around !

Also, I saw the scaling down but do zones also scale down? I mean, if I'm max level and I go into a newbie zone or dungeon will I simply obliterate everything? (I have to admit feeling OP is fun sometimes)

There is some discussion up thread about the scaling but I don't recall the details.

You can run around and do quite well in the 'lower level zones' but you are never out of danger if you are asleep at the wheel.

If you've made it to 10th we can run instanced dungeons. If not, we can run public dungeons or delves. Either way we can get something together. I'll try to start a group when I get on this evening.

Where and how do we meet up?
