My stepson got me a new router. Of course it didn't work. Took two hours on line with netgear before I fixed it. I don't even know what I did but the Indians were no help. They kept asking me to reset the router and I would lose connection to them. Three of them had me do it. Three!
FUCKING THREE OF THEM!

Here's a thought...just throwing it out there...if you post details of your problem here on OO BEFORE you spend hours banging your phone (and your head) against the desk, with all the IT people here that could brainstorm some solutions for a router-related problem...do you see where I'm going with this?

Maybe knowing that you were going to lose connection and suggesting it anyway wasn't accidental?

You shouldn't need fake batteries. Those batteries are in series, so all should need to do is figure out which terminals are the ends and just solder directly to them.

I don't want to solder directly to the device. Well, I don't want to solder at all, but I can get past that. I guess I would really be soldering to the battery pack which is a separate piece. It kind of looks like the battery pack connects with a 9v battery connector so if I could dig up a male 9v connector I could use that. This would be one of those very rare moments when I miss Radio Shack.

The project got a little more complicated when I realized I don't have an outlet anywhere near the front door. I think I am going to have to go through a wall to get to power. :x

So I guess 9v batteries are androgynous. You motivated me to do a search, I can just rip a 9v connector out of one of the derelict toys piled about my house or off a 9v battery for that matter.

Somewhere down the road (a few houses down, not a couple towns over), I am going to need my hip replaced. That is obnoxious enough, but l have a six-speed manual.

And it is my clutch pedal leg that needs the work. :-/

I want to thank Microsoft Online for generating a random password that turned out to be an insult for a new client who may or may not be of Hispanic descent by their last name. Although I think "Puta" (followed by some numbers) is almost universally recognized as an insult at this point in time.

This tick bite is driving me crazy!! I pulled a tick off my shin nearly 2 weeks ago now. Ive never ever had a tick bite bother me. But this thing will NOT stop itching. Its itched since day one and its the same if not more intense now. the red is not spreading. Its the size of a dime and thats the way its stayed. It has a small red pimple like place the tick was dug in on in the center. Ive taken Benadryl and kept Neosporin on the bite area for these two weeks. Well only tried the Benadryl 2 days.

WTH? Maybe part of its mouth parts got left in? I dont see anything. At this point Im ready to take a knife and shave the spot off.

You did loosen its grip first by swabbing a bit of alcohol on it for a few minutes first, right?
Just yanking him out of there can cause a nasty infection.

No never have. They say not to put anything on them because it can make then basically throw up into you. I was in the shower and almost done when I noticed it. My skin was soft by then. Removed it as usual by getting as close to my skin as possible then slowly and constantly pulling with more force until it is off.

Im guessing Id be very sick if it was Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and if it was Lyme I should have a bulls eye ring but its just that dime sized red mark that ITCHES hehe.

After two weeks? Yes, highly likely.
if it was Lyme I should have a bulls eye ring
The ring only appears in about a 1/3 of all cases. The key for Lyme is the amount of time the tick is spent feeding. All data suggests the tick needs 20+ hours of time embedded in your skin in order to be able to transmit disease. This is why Powassan virus is such a big concern - contact time might be an hour. That's crazy.

But you didn't even ask about Ehrlichiosis. Or Burbon Virus. :D

Seriously though, you were right in not trying to douse it with alcohol or a match head or Vaseline. Just firm grip with tweezers and gently backing it out of your skin is the best option. Not a doctor but having a raised red bump 10+ days after the tick was removed seems odd (to me). If it is leaking pus I'd probably go to a doctor.

Nope no puss...no infection...no fever.. Its like I have a single spot of poison oak that wont go away. Id guess the tick was there no longer than 10 hours if that.

Worried about tomorrow now. I have to weed eat my yard. My entire yard is up to my waist. My lawnmower broke 3 years ago. Im disabled because of my back and all I have is a weed eater. So I cant weed eat when the yard needs it and have to let it go. Then I have to be feeling well enough and medicated enough to get to it. Plus I have to have 3 days of sun to dry it out. So I cant get the yard looking good very often. So some of it is knee high and some waist high. It looks HORRIBLE. My neighbors have nice yards they take care of. I know they must hate me. Im embarrassed when I go get the mail. Tomorrow is the day I get to it. To weed eat my entire yard and wear out my weed eater will take me 2 hours. Fun. No telling how many ticks are in that yard waiting.

Client (in Africa): We need you to do a 30 minute presentation on your solution next Monday. All of your proposed team members must be present.

Me: I'm the only one available Monday. If you need our full team, they aren't available until Tuesday. Could we shift to Tuesday morning instead?

Client: Thanks for confirming your presentation on Monday. Please send us the names and numbers for all your team members.

Me: Again, if we present Monday, I will be the only one available. The rest of my team would not be able to join. Can we do Tuesday?

Client: For your presentation on Monday, could you be sure to have team member X discuss this part of the proposal.

Me: As I said, team member X cannot attend Monday. I can discuss it, but will be the only one on the call. Is there any possibility to shift to Tuesday, so the full team can join?

Client: Look forward to talking with your team on Monday.

Found out one of my good friends is in 250k worth of debt due to housing, education and credit card debt. She (and l for that matter) would have been in better fanancial shape if we had never went to college, never bought a home and never tried to build a good credit rating.
