Reading a defiant review of a game that sounded more like a story than a game in the "under the radar" thread...
I wonder if kids still like pop up books or if computers somehow took the joy out of them.
Pop up books were my favorite. It wasn't just the interactive story illustrations. It was the engineering. The something different. The attacking a narrative from different directions (though I wouldn't learn what a narrative is until many years later). It was the same thing grabbed for the 70's Disney telling of Winnie the Pooh, which was by far my favorite set of stories. My parents bought the Disney album for The Blustery Day and I'd play it over and over and read along with story book. That passive love never died. Two decades later I'd discover Griffin and Sabine and the magic was there. What a precious series of books.

While imaging a machine, I just remembered flashes from a dream last night. I had a pocket watch on a chain that fit into that tiny pocket that you often see on the right front side of slacks and I was riding a rollercoaster to get from one spot outside of this huge building to another spot outside of that building.
What puzzles me as I sit here imaging this machine, is that I remember the pocket watch being full sized and yet those tiny slacks pockets are tiny and the pocket did, in fact, fit in that tiny pocket. I also for the life of me can't remember what the chain attached to.

Im surprised these days when I look for something on the web and cant find it. Back in the 90s it was new and very common to find nothing at all you wanted. But now days its a surprise to me. Like I was looking for a webpage that had the largest of each Star Trek groups ships listed...Federation, Klingon, Romulan and so on....and compared them. I could look up each ship by their own I guess but you'd think someone would have made a single page by now...nope.

I'm the other way around. I used to find what I was looking for on Google in the top three answers every time the first time I tried. Nowadays, half the first page are advertisement answers and then I have to wade through incorrect link after incorrect link to find what I'm looking for and all too often a simple answer links to a youtube 30 second session that isn't what I'm looking for.
Now if I want to buy something and I'm not just looking for information, I can generally find someone willing to sell it to me at some price in seconds or minutes depending on how obscure the thing I need is or if I discover that I have to pull a serial number off some other thing to better define the thing I'm looking for.

I just watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes again. There were what, hundreds of apes or more?
I looked it up on line and there are about 23 that live in the area in zoos and only one or two privately.
And how are 25 or hundreds of apes going to get food in the giant redwoods?
Just sayin' that's all.

For KKB, imaging a machine is the process of wiping a computer's OS drive and putting a brand spanking new "image" on it. It's an "image" rather than an "install" because all the configuration is already done and the process of "imaging the machine" is a simple data copy to the hard drive. It's faster and less work than doing a new install. It requires more work ahead of time prepping things, but it's ideal when you need to add lots of new (identical) machines to a network or someone has corrupted an already existing machine and you just need to get back to the base configuration.
As implied by both LM and Paingod, once the up front work is done, the process of imaging has a lot of waiting around for it to finish.

I try to work on three plus projects at once.
The three problems are when everything starts happening at once and I can't keep up, my brain doesn't always shift gears fast enough and sloppy mistakes get made, sometimes you get stalled in "watching and waiting" mode on all three projects... which is where OO comes in...

Seriously. HOW do you know know that you have left a contact in your eye???A “blueish mass” of 17 contact lenses has been discovered in the eye of a patient who was scheduled for cataract surgery.
Specialist trainee ophthalmologist, Rupal Morjaria, told OT that another 10 individual contact lenses were discovered in the woman’s eye following further examination at Solihull Hospital.
