It's the one thing I don't think I was prepared for as I age...a couple of times/week I'm having to pluck my ears. Really? Geez!

Just get yerself one of these; it's a nifty battery-free tool with excellent durability that doesn't pinch, and has no motor/electronic parts that otherwise inevitably wear out. I've had one for years, and it still works great.

At 48, I've really started to notice which of my peers are paying attention to their ear hair and which obviously aren't. Should I tell them?

I remember the first time a barber asked if I wanted my eyebrows trimmed. I was 35 or so, and it had never been a problem before. Now I have to have it done every couple of months.

Fuck you age, specifically because regular ear hair grooming. What a freakin' nightmare!

I have three or four follicles that occasionally produce hairs on TOP of my nose, about an inch up from the tip. They're easily plucked with tweezers.

Just the other day I saw a dude with the same thing, only he was apparently growing his out.

A Twitter source doing real-time World War Two reports the war with updates several times a day. They've just now restarted with Germany's invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939. They'll finish this cycle in August 2023.

If you have any interest in WW2, you should definitely follow this.

Went to the barber shop that Ive gone too since I was a wee child. It wasn't there. Says it had moved. So I went to where it had moved. Uh oh..its really a beauty shop now. The barbers have died or gotten old and retired over the years.

My hair was half way down my back though and I wanted it gone so I got my cut. Its nice. Not exactly what i wanted but it'll do pig it'll do/

Prices are not THAT bad. As a kid it was $3. Then in my 30s it was $12. The nice lady charged just $12 again but gave her a $20.

Are there barber shops in smaller towns? Are there no men out there getting standard cuts and trims? Is it a metrosexual world?

EDIT: Not all was lost. Got to drive a manual transmission vehicle. Not done that in 25 years. Last I own was 30 years ago. I miss them I love them. And funnily enough I didn't miss a beat or stall it or even jerk the clutch. Butter smooth ride. Its like riding a bike I guess.

Theres a place in Texas called The Big Texan. Its a steak house with a food eating challenge. If you eat a 72 oz steak, baked potato, roll, and salad in under 1 hour its free. Im guessing its like $100 otherwise. It states 48,000 have tried and 40,000 have failed. Adam from Man vs Food did it in 29 min where most take nearly the entire hour.

But check this video below. This is Molly Schuyler. A small girl in size but damn she can eat. She seems to just bite it off and swallow and not chew. How she lives I dont know. She F'n ate that steak in 5 minutes..THEN turned around and ate a second in 10 min. So in a total of 15 min she ate 2 72 oz steaks, 2 rolls, 2 baked potatoes, 2 salads. I mean the the steaks alone are 9 pounds!!

How does she live!?? I mean digest and remove waste later. GOOD GOD GIRL!

It might be a fad, but manly retro-style barber shops are a big thing right now.

I get my cuts at one that would be a complete throwback to about 1935 if it weren't for the fact that the barbers are covered in tattoos and piercings. Six or seven guys (one gal) work there, and half of them are under the age of 30.

They'll do any style, of course, and the clientele ranges from flashy hipster artists to cops getting standard cop cuts.

Anywhere from $10 at a chain to as high as you want.

I pay $23, which always feels like a lot. Fortunately my hair is such that I like it both shorter and longer, so I go three or four months between haircuts.

I pay $20 (including tip) at the local chain place. When I started going there 28 years ago it was a Bo-Rics, then a Supercuts, then a Best Cuts. The name and the faces change but I am a constant. Yet nobody there ever recognizes me. I only get 2-3 haircuts a year, and the stylists are all just passing through.

Got stuck in a packed school zone yesterday. At a light I was by a bus exit. Im pulled as far forward as I can against the guy in front of me and theres a bus to my right wanting out. I cant move. The guy behind me has left room but the turn lane to my left is packed. Then the turn light changes and it moves enough and the bus pulls out. But the stupid fucking dumbass turns right too quickly and bumps me as it turns. The idiot doesn't even stop. It was a bump enough to move my car or rock it. I cant see its number as it flys by and Im stuck in traffic and cant go after it.

So now my Mustang has a scratch and a rub on the left rear corner of the bumper and I cant do a Godamned thing about it. Fucking dumb people in the damn dumb world. Sick of it all.

I don't really live in that small of a town (3rd largest city in the country), but my barber shop has been around since 1968. Most of the barbers are younger and pierced/tattooed, but Joe is still cutting hair (as is his son, Joe Jr.). If you come in around November/December, Joe Sr. will usually offer to let you sample some of his homemade wine. It keeps getting more and more expensive, though, which isn't really a surprise since the neighborhood is becoming more and more hipster. Cuts these days are $30. I could probably get cheaper at a chain, but it's close to home and I like the atmosphere.

Looking online I see there must be about 6 here. One seems to be like that. The other seems like the old ones. Also cuts are listed as $14 and a shape up is $7.

Correct. Interesting fact: the hair isn't growing, it's just that the ears are shrivelling due to the body dehydrating.

Not really. Women experience menopause as we age, as you know. Men's hormones also get wacky as you get older, and that's what causes the hair growth...out of control testosterone. As we stop producing estrogen we do get a little more hair growth but not like men do.
