Guardian
It was originally thought that the unnamed 47-year-old man from Preston might have cancer.

He was referred to a respiratory clinic after complaining of coughing up yellow mucus and feeling unwell for over a year.

Medics initially thought the patient, who had also recently suffered pneumonia and had been a long-term smoker, had a tumour after an x-ray showed a mass in a lung.
Spoiler:
However during a bronchoscopy, which was carried out to help aid diagnosis, they realised it was a “long-lost Playmobil traffic cone” the patient had received on his seventh birthday.

I was thinking I was due for an eye exam. I checked my records for my last "annual" eye exam. May 2012... huh.

I'm so sick and tired of physics working the same way all the time.
It would be nice if we could change it with a big keyboard by just hitting alt, right?

Personally I'm all in favour of hitting alt-right, but many people feel that it doesn't change things for the better.

Ctrl-alt-right what he's looking for. Try it. But be careful, Ctrl-alt-left overcompensates.

Mrs. Skinypupy turns 40 tomorrow. While I'm typically not a birthday person, I went all out on this one. Executive suite at the Hotel Park City, dinner at Ruth's Chris, spa treatment, the works. It was going to be a surprise tomorrow when we dropped the kids off at grandma's house and hit the road, which is something we never get to do.

Predictably, a massive bout of stomach flu hit her about 1:00 this morning. She hasn't stopped throwing up since. In trying to figure out what to do about tomorrow, I had to spoil the surprise (she asked where we were going to see if she would feel up to it), and asked if we could reschedule (we can't, it was a non-refundable package deal). She has grudgingly agreed that she still wants to try and go, but has pre-warned me that we might need to head home if the bug keeps up.

I feel awful for her that she's so sick, but dammit...this just sucks. :grund:

Watching these 80s music videos...Huey Lewis / Pointer Sisters..you name it...it reminds me how silly I was as a teen. In my teens anyone in their 30s was old. Now Im 48. I dont want to be old but my wife says if I didn't grow old it means I died a while back. Sometimes I wonder if that isn't better. Others Im good for another 100 years.

In 20 years Ill be 68 if I make it. 68! Jus t20 years. Not fair. Ive had 30 with my wife. 20 is only 2/3 of that even. Shit. 60 was SO far away as a kid and teen.

In 20 years I'll be 88. If you want to feel in good health at 68 start now at 48 to prepare.
And don't worry about having enough money then. You won't, no matter what you do.

Ugh, hope it works out. If not, hope she gets some sleep in a nice fat bed and you get double steaks and a massage.

We took the kids to a really good and decidedly no-holds-barred production of Cabaret last night. The stage version is significantly darker than Bob Fosse's.

So, yeah, that was the boys' first burlesque show, I guess.

We should set up a buddy system. Everyone should have another OO'er they share real life info with so if for some reason you vanish for too long, we'd get a chance to know what was going on. I'd hate to have someone disappear and never know how or why. :(

She lives in Texas, I live in Pennsylvania. Planning a trip in Jan/Feb to find out exactly what that entails.

When I got cancer, I gave specific instructions to my ex-wife and my best friend that should anything happen to me at any point, they were to post about it on OO. Both have had accounts here, but neither has posted regularly. Still, should I buck the kickit, one will be here to announce my (hopefully hilarious) death.
