Happy Third Pi Day!

(It's the 314th day of the year. Second Pi Day, for those who lost count, is more properly known as Pi Approximation Day -- 22 July.)

I'm pretty sure Hedy Lamarr was the inspiration for the female villain in the second season of Agent Carter.

Also, Lamarr was a foreign alien (Austrian) during WWII and had difficulties maintaining ownership.

The girl sitting across from me in this meeting looks a fair amount like Heather Harmon (aka Heather Brooke). This is a tad distracting.

Named them after Colorado mountain peaks (Pikes Peak, Longs Peak, etc.) And then the CMIO decided that to make it even classier, instead of putting the actual names on the doors of said conference rooms, he would just hang pictures of said mountain peaks.
The last place I worked had conference rooms name Telluride, Aspen, Breckenridge, etc. Then we expanded and the new rooms were called Summit (the big break room), Long's Peak, and Pike's Peak. I could never tell the difference between the two (for Outlook reservations as you point out), until I started telling people that Long's Peak was the one you had to walk farther to get to.

Our counterparts in California had conference rooms named after Monopoly properties. Much easier. Of course, they code named our products after worldwide mountains (Denali, Shasta, Mt. Blanc, Eiger, etc.). Fortunately there was never any confusion caused by our use of local peaks.

  • A reminder that the breakroom refrigerator is not the Community Chest.
  • Please do not place anything blocking the door to Electric Company, as it represents a fire hazard and creates issues with our contractors.
  • Please remember that Reading Railroad is a quiet-area breakroom.

For those who don't want a search history... Here's no-pix but NSFW prose version
Spoiler:
TL;DR: When webcams became popular enough, Jim and Heather Harmon decided to put on a little show on iFriends. Heather's good looking, and Jim's well hung... and Heather has no gag reflex. You can see where this is going. The first big video was actually threesome featuring Jim, Heather, and a friend Brooke. And it's 3 minutes long. It went viral before there was such a thing, via filesharing networks like Kazaa. And Heather got the alias "Heather Brooke" from the filename. Soon, they're encouraged to put on their own website. They ran it for a couple years, with simple but nice fellatio updates, then quit after making enough money to be comfortable.

Dreams.I had 3...that I recall.

1. Trapped in an ancient mansion wit ha huge graveyard run by a crazy old medieval like soldier. A ghost appears every 13 years to cause trouble....and its been 13 years when I arrive. When the ghost finds out he was also a werewolf...all hell breaks loose.

2. I owned a dirtbike. Never had a motorcycle but always wanted one. In this dream I had one. Riding it and working on it with some friends. Normal old dream really even down to being a bad rider.

3. A huge computer build off. But it had to be an old computer with old parts. Yard sale stuff. Ill leave it all out but to say I came across my very first modem boxed and all. A bunch of us were fighting over it and I offered everyone $50 each to let me buy it because it was my first modem. After I got it I realized that wasn't my first modem after all..GRRrr. Used it anyways. No idea who won because my dog decided it was wake up time and climbed on top my chest and licked my face at that moment.

Oh and on the not a dream front....our dog HATES the kerosene heater.. If I go to fill it or light it or move it he is barking a storm at it. He really really hates it.

I imagine him as K-9 and the heater as a Dalek . He is protecting 'Master' is all.

Why does the online pic site keep showing me girls butts in blue jeans!?? It knows my weakness!!! RUN!! ..

EDIT: I also wish our local news station..WRCB...would stop using an automated spell checker on their online news write ups. Im getting tired of trying to read stories where an entire word is replaced with the wrong one. Like talking about a rocket propelled grenade saying a rocket prepared grenade. Its not a simple misspelling its an entire word being replaced wrong. And they do it multiple times per story.

:coffee: .. Apparently Mini Kegs of Ranch Dressing Exist
Spoiler:
Thanks to an article on Huffington Post, we’re now woefully aware of the dangers of innovation and finally understand Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park. This mini keg of Hidden Valley Ranch sells for $50, holds five liters, and comes with “a year supply” of dressing. It’s a bit unclear on what that quantity is exactly but if a serving size is two tablespoons and you’re eating that daily, math tells us that’s about 10.7 liters and that you’ve also got a serious ranch addiction.
.
Ain't nobody got time for that

Really upset me.

Last spring the wind whipped our screen/glass front door open and back. Ripped part of that hydrolic spring out of the door jam. Just now fixed it. Was only 2 screws in it of 4. The two holes for the missing screws were bent and broken so I have no idea where or when they screws went flying. I got my cordless drill out to use as the screwdriver and damn glad I did. I wasn't sure when the 2 remaining screws were ever going to finish coming out of there. They must have been 2" or more each! Glad I didn't have to do it the old manual'ier way. Now the door has good tension on it..so much so that now I have to watch and not let it go or will slam shut hard.

This was found on my agency's intranet page this week:
Flushing paper towels down campus toilets and urinals can cause extensive damage, resulting in expensive repairs. Further, slippery floors can cause serious injuries. Use the toilet paper and paper seat covers provided in the bathroom stalls.
The fact that a bunch of scientists and engineers need to be reminded of this is truly sad.

Did everyone in the country just simultaneously agree to forget how to handle busy stop sign intersections? No, you don't get to turn left first. Let the person going straight go first. No, it's not your turn yet, did you notice how the last person to go was on your street? That means the other street goes next. Hold on, don't inch forward, just wait there behind the line until it's your turn so you don't confuse anyone. You there, why aren't you going? How can you not see it's your turn?

I find there is a real problem when those with the right of way hesitate or fail to use it entirely.

It suddenly becomes every man for himself, which results in awesomeness.
