I like the bone forest. I'm not sure if it's a regional thing or what, but white painted trees similar to those have been part of my upbringing, so they seem fine. They are very dramatic, but not nearly the desolation implied here. The traditional tree at the end seems almost out of place, given the style of everything else.

I have no opinion on the ballerinas. Well, that's not completely true. I think what is being attempted is perfectly reasonable, I just have no idea if it works, if it's too ostentatious, or simply doesn't work.

It's certainly not boring, traditional or safe design. Nothing wrong with trying new things.

You guys are harsh. The hallway is a combination of 2 traditional interior design concepts.

Reserved, underlighting for transitional space, and white Christmas decorations.

If you don't like it, that's cool, I just don't think it's deserving of the scorn being heaped on it.

I don't have a problem with ballerinas or the white decorations. I do have a problem with the modern-artsy hallway with dead-looking trees and crazy shadows. It could work in an art gallery or some other modern space, but the White House (and any other historical building) calls for a more traditional design.

A few years ago, I went to a Halloween party dressed as God's gift to women. I had a bow, a tag that said "to women, from God", and a dick in a box box. Inside the box was a picture of Dick Cheney.

It was a hit, but it was that kind of crowd, and I didn't force anyone to open the box.
