I think your definition of "plenty" is different than mine, when immigration is viewed in its totality.

Anyway, your article is making the case for letting smart people in. Is that a case that really needs to be made?

Opening the door to anyone who wishes to come here is kind of the foundation of the country. Yes, we should encourage highly skilled people to come here, but that doesn't mean we should also shut the doors to people who want to come here from awful situations to build a better life. They have this tendency to work hard and build up the community and country. There's plenty of data to back this up.

Except they are busy removing legal ways into the country too.

It's a pretty blatant attempt to close the borders as much as legally possible, including changing the laws.

Once upon a time I sorta/kinda gave them the benefit of the doubt on illegal immigration, but the clear message now that they control Congress and a racist president is "stay out".

Immigration is one of the prime causes of population growth. Watch Europe if you think a stagnant population will maga.

The truth is the US needs a steady influx of immigrants to prevent economic decay.
