I'm not completely surprised, after all the "women in combat" topic goes into great detail (most of which is valid) about the physical inferiority (we can call it differences if that sits better) of women, but I am slightly surprised about Serena placing so far back. She is clearly an imposing female specimen of strength, stature and skill. So much so that she (and her sister) always gave me the impression of being uniquely special in the same way that players like Gretzky or Jordan were in their day, so I'm a little surprised that the 300th ranked male is better than she is.

That said, she's still a better tennis player than over 7.5 billion people, 3.75 billion of which are men. Being faster, stronger and more skilled than 3.75 billion men is a pretty big deal. Being faster, stronger and more skilled than 3.75 billion men as a woman is at least an order of magnitude even more impressive.

I don't begrudge anyone enjoying what they do, but if I start thinking straight jacket, maybe dial it down a notch (I'm the final arbiter on what's reasonable, duh). It's like everyone in the video is competing to show us just how much fun they are having, but the keyboardist left the gate before the starting pistol went off. He's so far out in front, no one is even bothering to try to catch him. Plus he keeps looking around at everyone, making sure he's still in the lead.

I thought it was ok the first time I heard it, but a couple more listens have really got me hooked. It doesn't hurt that I immediately fell in love with Electro Swing when someone somewhere introduced me to Parov Stelar's stuff.

First, you're not alone. I skipped the entire IRC era. I barely know what IRC is. Also, I'm only vaguely aware of what RSS feeds are.

I stumbled upon Discord because it has become popular like many products before it and so when I want to do something with someone, I get told to join their discord server.

My limited understanding based on my usage. Discord is:
1) A voice chat program
2) Also a live text chat program
3) Also a forum chat program

I'm pretty sure it does other things (possibly hooks in some video games for voice features, maybe. I know PUBG allows a discord overlay which shows who's in your discord channel while in a PUBG game, but more importantly tells you who's speaking so you can put the voice you hear to the name you already know).

The super simple answer is that it's a voice chat program with very low overhead, high quality voice transmission. It's the next iteration/generation of Teamspeak/Ventrilo/whatever. It does more and seems pretty good at what it does.

There are several of us that use the OO discord server for PUBG nearly every night, and I know another group of OO'ers use it about once or twice a week for their own multiplayer games (like GTA5 or Rainbow Six Siege or Vermintide).

When I said "someone posted this" it's because in the general chat channel you can just write stuff, or drop links or post screenshots or whatever, so whoever dropped the video I posted here on OO had posted the link. Their user name didn't match any OO'er's name that I recognize, so I'm not sure who it was.
