I don't understand the outrage, I think mayonnaise ice cream sounds good.
Probably tastes kind of like eggnog.

Who else thinks of actors the way I do? Ive been watching old 90s eps of shows. Last night it was Stargate SG-1. It struck me that when I think on an actor like say Richard Dean Anderson I think of him from the 90s. I think of him in his Col O'Neill days. Not his older self. I do this with actors and actresses all the time. I just live in a different time.

Sounds similar to how some of my wife's aunts used to go on and on about how good looking Marlon Brando was. How attracted to Marlon Brando would you say you are?

Funny. I always knew him as the old and fat kinda nutty old man my entire life. But saw A Streetcar Named Desire clip or pic the other day and showed the wife and thought he was pretty handsome. I could hardly believe it was the same guy. She agreed.

I probably knew it at the time but stuff doesn't stick all that well in my mind so seeing that Peter O'Toole lived until Dec 14 2013 is a surprise to me. I didn't realize it was that recent. One of the greats.

Just watched the Star Trek The Next Generation episode The Outrageous Okona. I always remembered this as a fun ep due to Billy Campbell's character of Okona. It came down to his acting of the part. Fun stuff.
It also has a young Teri Hatcher in it.

Kasey Chang wrote: Sat Jul 28, 2018 5:14 pm I started a new job as a delivery driver (not UPS, thank God) and I found out I need knee braces... or a ton of painkillers. For the past week, even with me doing only HALF the walking (I was partnered with a fellow driver, as we shared loads), I was walking 5000-8000 steps per day, which is way more than my usual walking (honestly, about 1000). I can feel my pounds are dropping (I already fit back into my size 42 pants, whereas I usually wear 44). I just ordered the knee braces off Amazon, but they won't get here until late Monday. *sigh*

For grins, I looked up my favorite painkiller... Naproxen sodium. I just switched to Amazon's house brand, which is 40% cheaper than its competitor. (Hmmm...) I used to get 100 caplets for $8. Now I get 200 caplets for $10. I looked at the label... "do not exceed 3 tablets a day". WTF? So I looked it on on Mayo Clinic. Turns out, your body can tolerate a lot more than 3 a day. Each caplet is 220 mg, and your body can take up to 1500 mg a day. That's almost 7 tablets PER DAY. I'd imagine you have to take it with food to make sure it doesn't hurt your stomach though. For gout and arthritis in acute attacks, take 3 and hope for quick relief.

Here's to hoping I won't have to walk TOO much on Monday... :)
Call me when you get to 27,000.

Survived Monday. Fortunately I got a van that I didn't have TOO much problem getting into. Got my new knee braces in, will have to try them for a whole day to see if it really helps.

Achievement unlocked: Empty Nester

Helping the boys move into an apartment. Fortunately, it's only a couple blocks from my house, so we don't have to rent a truck. It does mean a lot of trips in the Forester and I am impatient to get it over with. Getting my house emptied of clutter is a side benefit.

Ive spent 2 days watching Lord of the Rings movie clips and studying maps the LotR world. Theres a LOT more detail than I thought to the maps but ill be damned if I can find a map to do the world justice. So many more places to find and see and the most fun i have is seeing a place's location on the map from the book or movies. Its really nice to see them in relation to other locations and what happens at them in different times of the world. How the place evolved. The heroes journeys. Places like Durin's Tower. Always wonder where it was related to Moria and the Endless Steps. Fun stuff. Maybe its just me.

Quick question. Where was the king and Aragorn camped when Elrond brings him the reforged sword? I wondered because it has a Pukel-Man statue on the path up to it and I thought that was way in the north yet I thought the camp was south down near the deadpaths.

Need to immediately fill the space with aquariums, weight lifting equipment, a hobby bench, and other "essentials" so they don't feel like there's a space they can use waiting there. Bonus points: Enlist them to help paint and remodel the space they vacated.

My memory for the books is poor in the movie they were at the top of a ridge on the other side mountain on other side of the river upstream from Gondor. Just outside of a place known as "the paths of the dead"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paths_of_the_Dead

So look for the White Mountains and the river leading to Gondor. On the other side, see if the Paths of the Dead is marked.

I’ve gained a wonderful daughter. Unfortunately I had to lose a son in the process. I support her choice completely. Yet I also mourn the loss of more than 20 years of history. Shared memories that fade because, at best, it is awkward to talk about the person involved or to see their prior name and appearance.

New memories will be made of course; life is good that way. Nor do I want to live in the past. However I find it rather mystifying to see all of the online discussion focusing on the parent’s feeling of losing their child’s original gender future when that seems trivial to me. My child’s future is still in front of her and hopefully is made better by her choice.
